Hi all, You may be aware that I am maintaining a quite comprehensive collection of Andrea Bocelli videos at www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/andreabocelli.htmIn fact, a few months ago I got a request from some of his fans in the US to put some documentaries on DVD - they were willing to reimburse me for my expenses. Problem is, I don't have anything set up so as to process foreign payments. So I devised a form of barter. The American author Erle Stanley Gardner is the creator of the lawyer/detective Perry Mason. I thoroughly enjoy these books, but my collection is nowhere near complete - and books by Erle Stanley Gardner are almost impossible to obtain in The Netherlands. So I suggested to my American contacts a form of exchange - a DVD for a copy of an Erle Stanley Gardner title still missing from my collection. The result? A substantial increase in my collection, a number of internet links where I may possibly be able to complete my collection, as well as a valuable set of contacts in the US, which I may be able to exploit when some of my other favourite singers are going to tour the US! An update on the above - in the last two weeks alone I received another 12 titles - which means that for every DVD I sent to the US, I got exactly one book in return. These 12 titles were from just two contacts, one who sent me 8 titles, and another 4. This has really been a very rewarding form of barter - exchange goods for goods, and moreover one that was conducted on a completely voluntary basis!
