Hi Tim, and many thanks for the information. We don't know any other details and can only guess that it is due to the very bad weather conditions. I have just heard that all flights from New York (from where Hayley would have to come) have been grounded.
If Anyone was going to the Philadelphia concert, please check with the venue to make absolutely certain although there doesn't seem to be any doubt.
We will post any further news as and when we hear it.

From the Il Divo Forum:
Philadelphia show cancelled. 12 February 2006
Weather conditions on the east coast of America have unfortunately forced Il Divo to cancel tonight's concert in Philadelphia.
Over a foot of snow has fallen in some areas, causing several airports to close and various power cuts.
The band are obviously very disappointed to have to cancel the show, and will be looking to reschedule it as soon as possible.

How nice to hear that Hayley is taking America by storm. (Hope this post doesn't "drift" too far.)

This cancellation seems to have been well justified. The tour organisers probably couldn't get the (huge) stage set from New York City on Saturday night to Philadephia on Sunday in time to do the show. Nearly 2 feet of snow was lying in Central Park today and "Whiteout conditions were reported around Philadelphia and Trenton, NJ, with northerly wind gusting to 40 mph (64 km/h)." according to the BBC. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4706792.stm Dave

Trust me, given the mess today it was well justified to pull the plug on the concert, no one would have been there anyway.
Hmmm, I had decided to duck this whole thing, but if it is rescheduled and there are dropouts, as you know there will be, it's really easy for a new date not to fit into someone's schedule, I may yet get to this.
As for Hayley today, I hope she did stay in her hotel room and maybe call back to NZ.

From what I've heard, maybe not.

From what I've heard, maybe not. You heard right. The Il Divo fans on the east coast from Maryland to Boston were all set to head for Philadelphia - SNOW or NO SNOW!! We shall prevail. Unfortunately, the "boys" couldn't make it down to Philly. All that being said, it was a good call - safety for everyone - even us wild and crazy Il Divo fans. Oh, Hayley is excellent, too. Saw her with I.D. at Atlantic City. What a beautiful voice. I plan on getting her CD. Jan

Il Divo's official website has made this announcement:
"Unfortunately, the recent Philadelphia show at the Kimmel Centre is unable to be rescheduled for the near future.
We regret the weather conditions have forced us to disappoint so many ticket holders but you will be able to receive a refund at the point of purchase. Apologies again, Il Divo were looking forward so much to performing for you there."
Very disappointing for all those affected.but not surprising... the tour schedule is tight and the venue has very few free dates.

Not surprising at all, though I think a lot of folks will be MOST unhappy. As long as they get the refund WITHOUT getting the runaround I think that's the best they can hope for.
