Media previews/reviews and fan reviews of Il Divo's concert in Montreal, Canada (those mentioning Hayley!), should be posted in this thread, together with any follow-up comments.
Please stay on topic to this concert; off topic matters can be discussed in a more suitable thread or board. If something in here prompted it, you can either quote an extract from it in the new post, or easily add a clickable link back to here, where it started.
Posts that start or drift seriously off topic may be edited or moved by the forum staff. Let's try to make it easy for people to follow what's happening on this important tour for Hayley!

I know Dave will be supplying some choice quotes from Il Divo fans, so I won't go into detail here, but from the looks of it Hayley WOWED them in Montreal -- even getting a standing ovation. A very triumphant night for Hayley!

I know Dave will be supplying some choice quotes from Il Divo fans, so I won't go into detail here, but from the looks of it Hayley WOWED them in Montreal Thanks for that Steve, I wouldn't have minded at all if you'd posted some quotes but it probably helps to keep them all in order (I have a system now ) I did see the first couple of reviews mentioning Hayley but it was past my bedtime and I decided to wait until I had a bigger batch to post, so here they are. I've also asked the "Divas" to tell me a bit more about what's happening with Hayley, so we'll see if they respond! Il Divo Forum thread is here. Hayley quotes are below (times are GMT I think).: "mom132: Posted: Thu Feb 09, 2006 4:23 am
The lady from New Zeland that started the show (Peggy I think - sorry I can't remember her name) has a very very nice voice. Even if she was very good, we were so anxious to see those 4 fabulous men and their extraordinary voices that when the show began, we were out of ourselves; it was simply unbelievable

Hayley was fantastic also - what a beautiful voice. I will definitely be buying her CDs SOON!
LINDASTRAM: Posted: Thu Feb 09, 2006 5:19 am THE BOYS CAME OUT ON TIME AFTER HAYLEY WESTENRA WHO BY THE WAY IS SUPER. SHE HAS A GORGEOUS VOICE.

Haley Westerna, not sure if that is the correct spelling but it's 12:39 am in the morning here and I have to get some sleep before work, was phenomenal ,, what an amazing voice for someone that young. She also got a standing ovation from us anyway.

It all started on time with Hayley Westenra singing to the delight of the audience, She was fantastic, she sang Cloud ilussions from J Mitchell, she did a song in her native New Zealand tongue and six others that were just as beautiful. She truly appreciated the response from the people and felt touched, she said her visit to the city was all too short and hopes to be back soon the crowd went wild and so she was so happy, her time was almost 45 minutes.

Hello Dave and everybody! Things are definitely improving! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif That last quote from Lina's post is short but very interesting. Hayley's merchandise must have been on sale at the Montreal concert, so lessons are being learned! Bye for now, Richard

Oh one funny thing I forget to mention in the tale from last night My Mom, made me laugh when she saw Hayley Westenra, she said she is a very pretty lady and she would be a good match for Garou, for those not familiar with this singer he is from Sherbrooke(east of Montreal) and he played Quasimodo in Notre Dame de Paris, is the first singer signed under Céline's management, he is very popular in french speaking countries, so all that to say my Mom is playing match maker and I looked at her and said you know they may already know each other , they all are with Sony/Bmg and they have the Divos and Céline in commum that seemed to please her

[in reply to my question about Hayley]: SHe wasn't properly introduced at the Toronto concert; she started singing while people were still getting seated. They were running late because of technical difficulties. Hayley is mentioned at the end of the program and there are some lovely pictures. Her CDs, a poster and a t-shirt were available at the merchandise booth. Hope this helps! Connie.

We were delighted with the presence of Hayley Westenra (http://www.hayleywestenra.com/) as their opening act. She has a very beautiful voice, a bit similar in style of that of Enya. Since it just so happen that I love Celtic music, I was really thrilled to discover her beautiful, powerful voice. There was a small introduction at the beginning of her act, but she was smart to repeat her name before leaving the stage so that we could remember who she was. I will make sure to get her CD as I like to encourage new artist. She was well aware that the crowd was really excited to see "Il Divo" so after a 30-45 minutes act, she bowed down that the stage may be prepared for "Il Divo". Bravo Hayley! You did a great job to entertain us and delighted us with your mystical voice. I especially appreciated you singing in Maori. At only 18 years old, you have a very promising career and a very impressive solid background. Thanks to "Il Divo" for introducing me to another great artist...
Let's just say that we appreciate everybody's effort to speak French, especially the likes of David who tried his best, Carlos who was thrilled to hear about the large Spanish-speaking audience in attendance and even Hayley who briefly spoke French to address the crowd at the beginning. This is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser.

This has just been posted to Hayley's Yahoo discussion group by Sylvie: Hello, I was in Montreal last Wednesday for seeing IL DIVO in concert and like everybody knows, Hayley is in the first part of the concert! She performed 8 or 9 songs from her albums in a perfect way! Most of the persons around me did not know her, I guess now she will have new fans!!! The audience loved her performance and she got warm applauses! It was more than evident that she was happy and she promised to come back in Montreal!!! Your MB, Sylvie

Simon indicated he would like more from Canada. Okay then, try this.... Marie-Claude, aka eiram, jopined our forum last night and has since very kindly sent some pirctures through to me. They feature Hayley in Montral and Ottawa and there is a promise of more to come. In due course, we will upload them all to the main site but, for now, here are two from Montreal: Many thanks, Marie-Claude. These, and all the others are really good. Roger
