Hi All,
Last week, BBC 2 broadcast a documentary about abandoned mentally handicapped Bulgarian children.
This is the latest charity supported by Zoë:
www.abandonedchildren.org.uk
On this website, you can find information about a campaign by the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Daily Mail to support children's charities. Zoë is asking for your support for the abandoned Bulgarian children.
Here is a message from her, with some very personal notes:

Hello
My name is Zoë Mace, I am 12 years old and I need to help me with this appeal!!
Last week I was invited to meet Kate Blewett who filmed the shocking documentary "Bulgaria's Abandoned Children". You may have watched it on BBC2 last Sunday, if you did it will be something you won't forget, I never will!!!
I still can't understand why such cruelty goes on in the world when children like me get fed everyday, go to school, go to the doctors or even hospital if we get sick and have a family to take care of us....so why should these children in Bulgaria be any different??? This is very important, so watch the video...
I am only 12 so I can't make the politicians listen, and I don't go to work so can't give any money to this appeal.
When I meet Kate, I wanted to help, so in the only way I can, I donated my voice and sang "In The Bleak Midwinter" on the following video for the Christmas Appeal for the children Bulgaria forgot. Now it's up to you, the grown-ups, to change things over there by spreading the word and donating as much as you can to the appeal.
What are you planning for Christmas this year? I am spending this happy time with my family, but somehow that just doesn't seem fair. So what I am wishing and praying for now is help to reach these children...now that would be my perfect gift this year! For those of you who knew my sister Jodie who was born with Downs Syndrome, she could have ended up in one of those horrid places if I had been Bulgarian...that is just to awful to think about!!
Will you help me?
Much love Zoë Mace xx

And here is a complementary message from Kate Blewett:
Please vote for Bulgaria's Abandoned Children - we would like to win the £100,000 !
=======================================
The following is taken directly from The Daily Mail - "To give your favourite charity a chance to be selected, just send us a few sentences describing why you think it should be awarded the £10,000 pound cheque. Your entry must be received by the Daily Mail by Thursday November 29th. A short list will be chosen that will be featured in the Daily Mail from December 13th. Readers will then be able to telephone a vote for the charity which they think most deserves the £100,000. Voting will close on Sunday December 16th - the winner will be featured in the newspaper on Boxing Day. If you want to nominate a charity for an award e mail charity@dmail.entries.co.uk , or write to RBS Daily Mail charity campaign, PO Box 241, Alton, Hants, GU34 9BE
