Hi All, With kind permission of the Mace family and Ben Heany, here is a new clip illustrating Zoë's incredible talent: www.zoe-mace-international.com/clips/O06a/unafarfalladevevolare.mp3The piece is based on a composition by Pagannini, adaptation and words by Ben Heany. Gerrit
Here are some notes concerning the song from Ben: Vivo Volare means Living to Fly in my understanding of the Italian. Una Farfalla Deve Volare means A Butterfly Must Fly. The song is from a work in progress... Zoe is singing the part of Crystabelle, a butterfly. She is about to be eaten by Ariknida, the spider and sings this aria: "Vivere era bello Ma adesso Desidero morire Perché una farfalla deve volare. Capisci? Capisci! Capisci. Aiutami, velocemente. Puoi aiutarmi. Per favour? Non sono impaurita! Desidero andare adesso. La nullit**SPAM? PLEASE REPORT Al più presto possibile. Vivere era bello Ma adesso Desidero morire Perché una farfalla deve volare. Ascoltami! Ascoltami. Sono una farfalla Ma non ho le ali. Sono una farfalla Ma non ho le ali. Capisci? Desidero morire! Niente, per sempre." But Araknida does not bite! The story in song will be continued.............

Thank you Gerrit! I just listened to the clip (someone can slap my hands...I'm supposed to be working on a research paper on Confucius but this was far more interesting) and it was brilliant! Each clip I hear of her is more amazing than the last. She's getting better all the time (I suppose that's the point isn't it?).
Great Job Zoe! Thanks agin Gerrit.

Hi Everyone Thank you Gerrit for posting the clip of Ben's beauitful song!! Zoe recorded this demo tape at live school after a netball match!! We used the school equipment which was very basic and had to put the microphone the other end of the class room because Zoe's voice was so loud!! Can you imagine what that will sound like in a recording studio with an orchestra playing?? I have been contacting many record companies with the track and it has been getting a lot of interest, so keep your fingers crossed. We have also been contacted by a TV company with regards to making a documentary on Zoë, which is due to be confirmed very soon. Also The Royal Marines asked Zoë if she would rather sing with their orchestra and we are in talks about them playing the music for her new album. All go!!!!!!!!! Will keep you all up to date with all the latest developments Much love Linda x ps Thanks again Gerrit!

Hi all,
I really enjoy that song. Thank you Gerrit. Hello Linda, I am sure that all of the TV and record companies won't be able to refuse Zoë's beautiful voice!
If I may post a quick translation of Una Farfalla Deve Volare (thanks to Google) ...
Living was beautiful But now I wish to die Because a butterfly must fly. You understand? You understand! You understand.
It helps me, quickly. You can help me. For favour? They are not frightened! I wish to go now. The invalidity To more soon possible
Living was beautiful But now I wish to die Because a butterfly must fly. It listens to me! It listens to me.
They are a butterfly But I do not have the wings. They are a butterfly But I do not have the wings. You understand?
I wish to die! Nothing, in order always.

Hi Linda, Looks like we have a Dame Zoe Mace in the making! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif What you said about how loud Zoe's voice is reminded me of an interview of Dame Shirley Bassey I've read just couple of days ago: When did you realise you had such a powerful voice?
"I was about 12, the first day at school choir, and I was in the front row. We started the song, and the teacher stopped and said 'Bassey, you are too loud, get back'. I went back and we started again and she said, 'Bassey, still too loud, back'. I went back until I was right at the back of the choir, and we started again and she said, 'Bassey, you are still too loud'. So I went back and back until I found myself in the hall. And I never heard from her again." Keep it up Zoe, you have a great voice! Thanks Gerrit for posting the clip, looking forward to hear more from Zoe. Allen

Hi Allen Apparently Zoe's voice is so loud because her breath control is amazing. Zoe practices her breathing exercises every morning and night and holds her breath underwater in the bath!! She is extremely fit and loves sport and dance, so her lung capacity is huge, this is why she is finding the opera song easy to sing now. Zoe is such dedicated, focused child, she is just to good to be true!!! I thank God everyday for sending her my way, our house is always full of song i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif She is learning a piece from Romeo & Juliette at the moment, not so challenging as Ben's piece, but very beautiful. Love Linda x

Wow, Zoe is an amazing singer! Thanks for the clip. With all the hard work she is doing, it's no wonder her voice is so good. I shouldn't think she will have any trouble at all finding a record company. Keep up the good work, Zoe! Cathleen

Living was good (beautiful is fine though!) but now I wish to die because a butterfly must fly Understand...
Help me and quickly... can you help me please I am not frightened. I wish to go now... to nothing forever and as quickly as possible
Living was good but now I wish to die because a butterfly must fly Listen to me...
I am a butterfly but I have no wings Do you understand? I wish to die! To nothing, forever.
I'm so happy so many of you feel so positively about this song. Thank you for your support.

Love Linda x Hello Linda! Listening to the new clip of Zoë was most enjoyable, her voice is certainly getting stronger, wow! Thanks, too, for the early preview via Gerrit The new clip prompted me to listen to Little Ray of Light and Songs for My Sister again and this reminded me how delightful Zoë sounds when singing lighter, more gentle material - I'm not sure that this is necessarily less challenging than the stronger, more powerful songs, but the challenges are certainly different. This is why I'm hoping that before too long, we will be able to hear the Romeo and Juliet song; I think I'm going to love it as I tend to prefer lighter gentler styles to the "power pieces" that so many crossover singers are doing these days. This may be why I'm a Hayley fan! Ben, we should not forget your involvement in this! Your arranging and lyric writing skills are certainly well to the fore in Zoë's latest song; impressive work on your part! May I ask you, did you first write the words in English then translate them into Italian, or were you able to write them directly in Italian? My next job is... to dig out Paganini's original so I can see how just much you adapted it! Cheers, Dave

Thank you Dave, the words were written together - an English phrase promtping an Italian and vice versa. Do dig out the Paganini original - Gil Shalam recorded it on a disk of violin & guitar duets. I worked from a manuscript for violin & piano without having listened to it. The music had to be narrowed to a practical range and then stripped down, the piano part made less military... you'll see/hear... It's strange now I've heard a recording of the original, almost spooky.
