Hi folks,
I'm new, and grew up not too far from Christchurch.
And yes, the countryside is beautiful, especially if you have the good fortune to be able to wake up and look out at Mt Cook from your front verandah as I did growing up.
Anyway, with a familial interest in Barbershop and Sweet Adelines groups I did a web search after the recent success of a Christchurch-based family member's Sweet Adelines chorus - yes, they won.
In the process I found the following reference to Hayley which appears on the Musical Island Boys website under the Public Relations thread, 4 paragraphs from the bottom at:
www.musicalislandboys.wellington.net.nz/
"They continue to be prominent role models for the youth, particularly the Pacific Island and Maori Youth, of Wellington and New Zealand. They have appeared in numerous local and national Newspapers. They have sung and interviewed on national radio stations, and have done numerous television appearances. These include interviews on Tagata Pasifika, recordings for Praise Be, Pacific Beat Street, Maori Television, Good Morning and appeared live, twice, on the much loved children's television show What Now?. Notable performances include singing alongside classical star Hayley Westenra in a recording for PBS television broadcast in the United States, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and worldwide DVD release, in concert with legendary Kiwi icons such as John Rowles, and more recently in Style Pasifika in the Auckland Town Hall performing alongside kiwi artists such as Adeaze and Sir Howard Morisson. "
That's all it says about the DVD. Maybe Belinda will know something
