Where can I find out about how much In Trutina means to Hayley? Hi Gerrit, Several of the forum members commented that at every "headline" show Hayley has done, she has performed this number. We found out the reason why recently when she introduced the song and said it was the first one that she ever recorded for Pure and it was the first time she had been in a studio with a full orchestra. For that reason it remains special to her. I can't remember if it's also mentioned in the book? (Help me out someone!) Regards, James Hi James and Gerrit I admit to being one of the above referred members and was delighted when Hayley actually explained the reason behind her feelings for the song which is exactly as James has described. I was surprised to find that it was the song chosen and commented to my dinner guests (yes folks! they were made to listen ) that I wondered if Hayley had been given the opportunity to choose the song to be played herself. It's quite a coincidence if it was a random choice, but appropriate non the less. Best wishes Grant

Hello everybody! I listened to the top 50 yesterday, and I thought 'Treasure' was at No.45, not 46. I knew 'Pure' would be at No.1 because of its great run in the charts in 2003. Congratulations Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Hi Richard and everyone, Who wrote 46 then? How dare someone underplay Hayley's success... just wait 'til I get my hands on him! Hmmm.... oh OK then, typo corrected, thanks. One thing that strikes me about this is that Decca should take advantage of it this year. This chart has generated good publicity for Hayley and some people will buy "Pure" and Hayley's other albums on the strength of it - not in huge numbers but enough to raise Hayley's profile at a time when she would otherwise be below the radar in the UK. It wiill certainly help later in the year for the promotion of concerts and the new album. It can be used in other Countries too, such as in NZ to help promote the tour. It led to Pure and Odyssey climbing the UK Amazon classical chart into the top 40 so a few people have already bought them yet the publicity has been very limited so far. "best selling classical album of the 21st Century" sounds even better than the usual "fastest selling debut classical album", don't you think? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

HWI main pages and with links to the full story has been up since yesterday afternoon and I've posted about it on several Internet music forums www.hayley-westenra-international.com/ I wonder when Decca and the official site get back to work? Cheers, Dave

Hello everyone, Sorry for temporarily locking this thread but it's open again now. If anyone wishes to discuss what they think are the implications of this chart in relation to Pure and Hayley's subsequent albums, please do so in the existing thread Treasure/Odyssey/Pure chart/sales comparisonsThank you! Cheers, Dave

Just a pity they didn't choose a typical Hayley song Presumably they didn't have enough time to play a NZ song, and chose the short In Trutina instead. One of the least representative of hayley's songs, if you ask me. Gerrit Not true, as others have mentioned. In fact when "Pure" was No.1 back in 2003/4, "In Trutina" was the track most often played on the chart show as I recall. After all, it's supposed to be a Classical Chart ! Because Hayley recorded an "accoustic" version of the 2 maori songs especially for Classic FM, they never played the versions on the album. (Wonder how the press found out about this chart ? I bet someone at Classic FM got a back-hander for leaking it !!) P.S. I missed All Angels on the New Year Show on BBC1. It was great exposure for them since 9 million people were watching. It's on AAI and some person cleverer than me will no doubt post a link to it !!
