Thanks Stephany, it's now #14 at Amazon.com (Celtic Woman A New Journey is #10). This must mean some high profile ads or a TV appearance by Hayley and/or Celtic Woman... the concerts alone cannot explain it. US members... please tell us what's happening! Dave EditAaaah, now that I've read socalboy's comments here I think I understand. If there have been no TV ads or appearances, the likely reason for the Amazon surge is that many people cannot find Celtic Treasure in their local stores. They are being forced to buy it from Amazon. If true, this means that the Amazon ranking will bear little relationship to the actual chart position next week. Sadly.

She has been bouncing between 18 and 27 on the Amazon ranking since I have been monitoring this.
This is of some interest to me because I have found in the past that there is some correlation between Amazon and how an album will eventually fare when it debuts on Billboard. (It wont make this weeks chart - the chart dated 3-31-07 will be the one to watch). When Pure hit Billboard at number 70, her Amazon numbers were running in the 30-45 range ten days prior, if memory serves me. It has been a long time since I have tried to make this correlation, but if the old rules apply it would not surprise me to see the album break the top 50 - and this might even be a bit conservative.
Those Amazon numbers dont exactly scream "hit" but they are certainly a lot better than anything she has been able to achieve there before.. The difficulties she has had breaking the American market have been a source of abiding frustration for me.

I too just saw socialboy's post - so I guess we will just have to wait and see

I don't know if this has been noted before, but CT is the #1 album in the Vocal section of iTunes Canada -- beating Norah Jones,' Michael Buble's, and Josh Groban's CDs. Odyssey is at #10. Her song Scarborough Fair is at #8 in the Top Songs list. Good job, Hayley!

I was bumming around IMDB.com, and decided to search for Hayley, and noticed something that I've not noticed on IMDB before. www.imdb.com/name/nm1507406/"STARmeter: [UP]32% since last week"

Last week, she was down to #130 on the Amazon.com chart but it looks like she's going up again. She's back in the top 100 : today, she's ranked #95. Maybe as a result of the CW tour?!

Maybe people buying albums as Easter gifts too. Hayley's music seems like a perfect gift for Easter.

She has been bouncing around as low as 170 and rebounding at times to around 60. It probably does reflect the CW tour to some extent, but we must keep in mind that the number of sales suggested are quite small. A ranking of 200 on Billboard probably translates to 3000 sales in that week give or take general market factors. Except for one week, she hasnt been there. The problem is that the album is now almost impossible to find at mainstream retailers - which means that almost everyone who is buying it has to go to Amazon or Barnes and Noble, making her numbers there look better than they really are. Hi everyone, Hayley's "Celtic Treasure" is #2 on the Barnes&Nobles World Bestsellers list. Guess who's first ? Interesting to see that the store lists Hayley in the "World Music" section and not in pop or classical. Full listing available HERE.

YAY, thank you for that Stephany. It seems Hayley has some sort of interest in all five of those. I am sure she is supportive of the Celtic Woman CD (in 5th place) even though she had no involvement in it. And I imagine Hayley is pleased for Loreena McKennitt because she wrote 'The Mummers Dance'! 5 out of 5, Hayley! Perhaps that is a record in itself! Roger

I didn't want to start a new topic, so I believe this is a good place to put this little tid bit. It's just that I don't see "Hayley promotions" around here and I got pretty happy finding something like this, only at Borders that is one of the reasons I like that place i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I was browsing my "Border's Monthly" and then I looked at the classical bestsellers and of course I knew Andrea and Josh would be there but then I saw "Celtic Treasure"!! (yes they mispelled it though, I'll be telling them soon about that ) That's good that it's still going strong and it's been months after its release, I'm guessing it's doing pretty well here in the U.S. then. Oh and here's the link www.bordersstores.com/features/list.jsp?list=bestclassicalMeldy

Hi Meldy, Dave, being our resident Charts expert, would know more about US sales than me but I don't think Celtic Treasure has exactly set the American market alight. The promo from Borders is therefore all the more encouraging and is it implies they are confident of further sales. Thanks for the news and the link! Roger
