I saw Paradiso in my local Morrisons today at #9 with about 6 copies there..and saw 3 people with copies in their basket/shopping trolley !! It's unusual to see any classical crossover etc there- the other few times i've been there they've only had jazz/ rnb compilation albums...Also went into HMV today and Paradiso was placed in a very prominent place there- one of the first cds you see as you go in.-in the 'HMV recommends section'..was also in #4 on charts shelf and in the easy listening section with quite a few copies-maybe 20/30 copies there...that surprised me because usually there's only about 4 Hayley albums in the whole store- when Treasure was released there were only 3 copies from day 1- , placed right at the bottom...well, they are when i arrive but usually end up at the top of the shelf by the time I leave haha...I think Paradiso is being promoted very well indeed atm... best wishes Sing

Thanks for the supermarket updates Bill, Martin D and Sing. I have just returned from my nearest Tesco Extra (i.e. megastore) and they had Paradiso quite prominently placed at no. 14. We now know that all the major supermarkets seem to have it in a reasonable or good position in their bricks and mortar stores, so, all is well. Over to Decca now, for some ads... Cheers, Dave

What I wouldn't give to see people in America with Paradiso in their shopping baskets! If I manage to find it at B & N, I'll probably be the only one there looking for it!

UK Paradiso seems to have steadied at #10 on Amazon for the moment. Last week, it averaged #9 for the week, which is the highest any Hayley album has ever been on UK Amazon for the week before release. I have updated the table on page 16 of this thread. Meanwhile, over at Amazon.com, with five weeks to release, US Paradiso is now getting rankings and is into the top 1,000, at #899 as I write. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow, I hope! Dave

Dave That's excellent news! Went into Tesco today and it had Paradiso at #10 and was their 'album of the week'- only had 5 copies left on the shelf initially but I bought copies for 2 of my friends as birthday gifts-I've been trying to get them to listen to Paradiso for a while- especially since one is Italian and the other is portuguese...but they weren't very interested- now they may not have much of an excuse not to listen I hope haha I think Paradiso is doing pretty well just round here-I havent seen this many of her other albums in supermarkets here! best wises Sing

Hi Dave and everyone Just got back from Derby - took the opportunity to look in HMV and Sainsbury's city centre store. Sainsbury's have it as #15 in their top 50 rack. In HMV "Paradiso" is right by the door in the 'new releases' section, although it is about half way down. There were only 4 copies left. Upstairs, there were a couple of copies in the alphabetical section. It was also on the second row of the adjacent new releases display which also had a copy of the current Classic FM magazine in a very prominent position. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes Grant

No sign of Paradiso in Tesco Rathmines, Dublin. But I did pick up a copy of Rodrigo and Gabriella, Live in France and the Jackie Evancho album.

Been into another ASDA today, the big one at Fosse Park. Paradiso was no 11 (as I suspect in all ASDAs) when I went in and No 1 of course when I left.

At Amazon UK, Paradiso is #1 in Pop: Traditional & Vocal, and #2 in Easy Listening!! And it's #11 overall. In Canada, it's #4 in the Classical charts, #12 in Vocal/Pop, #14 in Broadway & Vocalists, and #111 Overall. Amazon of Germany has it at #13 in Pop- Vocal/Traditional, and #12 in Classical. Overall, #882! On Amazon.com, it's currently #8 in Classical, #38 in Vocal Pop, #39 in Broadway & Vocalists, and #454 overall. I looked at France and Italy, and France has her one thousand something, and Italy, five thousand! Hopefully those numbers will improve once it's released in those countries.

Great to hear that about Amazon...i'm very disappointed with Morrisons though...i went back there today and saw that they had Joe Mcelderry's album at no1 . and Paradiso at no. 73!!! right at the bottom of the shelf where no one would notice unless you were actually looking for it...ended up at no1 by the time i left though haha best wishes Sing

So, how many copies did you buy to get it all the way from 73 to 1?

haha...I would imagine you would need ot buy a lot!..I didn't actually buy any- my dad bought a copy...but I moved three of the copies that were left to the top shelf -to the no1 spot...and try to encourage more people to buy Paradiso ...there were only about 10 copies left...my dad stopped me from moving anymore lol...I don't understand though how Paradiso went from no9 to no73 in the same week! best wishes Sing

I don't understand though how Paradiso went from no9 to no73 in the same week! Hello Sing, I did the 'rounds' this evening, and indeed my nearest Morrisons does not have Paradiso in the Top 60 (which is all they stock). But they had one copy in their un-numbered "Recommended" slots - which indicates to me that they sold all their other copies last week when it was no. 9. Madness! And none of the other supermarkets have done anything like that that so my guess is shambolic CD buying at Morrisons, someone at the top doesn't have a clue what they are doing. Much better news elsewhere! Asda megastore has it at no. 25 this week, which is what normally happens in week 2 for Hayley. It's a combined chart and six of the albums above it are compilations, so that's equivalent to no. 19, which is fine. Sainsburys megastore has it at no. 12 this week, which is of course brilliant for week 2. Tesco Extra (megastore) has it static at no. 14, the only one from last week's new releases not to fall there, so that's brilliant too. Those are the UK's three biggest supermarket chains so the Morrisons stupidity (they are 4th biggest) probably doesn't matter too much. At HMV, it's up one place from no. 26 to no. 25 online, and it's holding on quite well at Amazon UK too, currently no. 14 there. So overall, it's quite easy to get it this week on the spur of the moment once people know about it. Over to Decca! Cheers, Dave

Last I checked, Paradiso was at #2 in Pop Vocals, and #3 in Easy Listening. I decided to check her other albums, and Treasure was at #8 in Pop Vocals, and River of Dreams wasn't doing too badly, either. Odyssey and Pure weren't up very far. Winter Magic is #25 in Christmas music, but you wouldn't expect much for that in early September, anyway.
