Charts now updated here. So, Pure re-enters the US charts and goes up in the Canadian and Irish classical charts. The slide continues in the NZ chart (everyone must have a copy by now) and in the UK - where Pure may slip out of the top 200 altogether in next week's chart. It will be interesting to see how much of a boost Hayley's Classical Brits appearance can give for the charts published in 2 or 3 weeks' time. Katherine Jenkins is still the only 'artist' ahead of Hayley in the new UK Classic FM chart but three compilations or soundtracks are now ahead, Pure was in the top 3 for 34 consecutive weeks

And look - number 5 in Internet sales (actual sales counted by Soundscan for Billboard). This shows the chart rankings published by Amazon and B&N do have some value and aren't made up! There's a strange mixture in the Internet top 10, half are big sellers in the top 20 of the main chart, the others are all below 100, with one below 200. I'm trying to figure out why - and what this means for Hayley's future prospects. It's probably good news!

UK/Irish classical charts update - Compilation/soundtrack madness!Pure is down to 7 in the new Classic FM chart but the only artist ahead of Hayley is Katherine Jenkins (at 4) - so Hayley's still 2nd in the Classical Artist chart. The rest are compilations and sound tracks Pure's slipped out of the Irish classical chart again, this week.

Great News - Hayley is back at the top of the UK Classical Artist chart!, ahead of Katherine Jenkins, Emma Johnson and Karl Jenkins. This is the THIRD TIME Pure has regained the top position in the Classical Artist Chart, all from different artists (Bryn Terfel, Duel and now, Katherine Jenkins) It's also over 8 months now since Pure released in the UK... you can't keep a good 'un down for long! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThe Classic FM chart will probably be a different matter - all those pesky compilations and soundtracks!

After 42 weeks in the NZ album chart, Pure has just gone ELEVEN times platinum (165,000 shipped to stores). Up this week from 22 to 17, it is currently the biggest selling album in the NZ charts and must be getting quite close to the biggest selling album ever (it's about the 3rd all-time best seller there, if I recall correctly). NZ has a population of only 4 million and there are 1.4 million households there. So one NZ household in 9 now owns a copy of Pure

Singles 2 (2) 1 29 Avril Lavigne is still top[/PRE] In the US, Pure has dropped out of the BB 200 chart again but continues to do well in the classical crossover chart. Internet sales are always volatile and Hayley is out of that, too, having been around the 50 to 100 mark at Amazon and in the 30s at Barnes & Noble for the last week or so. In the UK, Pure is still out of the top 200 but got back to the top of the classical artist chart as Katherine Jenkins' sales dropped. There's still plenty of tough competition from classical compilations and soundtracks, though, so it won't reach the top of Classic FMs chart tomorrow. Next week should be better, the Classical Brit effect has increased sales of Pure - but also, apparently, Amici Forever and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top! Congratulations are in order for the extra platinum in NZ - 11x now (165,000 shipments)

Quick Charts update Edit - update in blue belowPure has beaten off the attack from Opera Band after the Classical Brits - but is down to no. 2 in the UK Classical Artist Chart. Knocked off the top by... wait for it... the magnificent Mario Lanza! His latest posthumous 2CD collection "The Definitive Collection" entered the UK pop chart at number 48! The odd thing about this is it's been absolutely nowhere at Amazon.co.uk for the last week (rank 995 earlier today) and completely fooled me as Pure and Opera Band have been between 50 and 150 throughout. Why? Because Amazon have it listed with the WRONG TITLE "Best of... "[Mario Lanza] and even HMV, Woollies etc have it as "Be My Love: The Definitive Collection". So people searching Amazon can't locate it and have trouble in many other outlets, too. Goodness knows how high it would have entered if they'd all got it right. The moral for record companies - do NOT change album titles in mid-stream! So there - useless information maybe, but an interesting day for me trying to sort it all out! EDIT - UPDATE
UK Pop Chart positions of the top 4 classical ARTIST CDs:
048 Mario Lanza (New) 137 Hayley (re-entry) 171 Craig Armstrong - Piana Works (New) 174 Amici Forever - Opera Band (re-entry)
Full updates - Thursday.

UK Classic FM Chart: Pure is kept at no. 5 by three compilations/soundtracks - and Mario Lanza. But even he cannot make the top in spite of crashing into the pop chart at 48. So the top CD is... "The Number One Opera Album 2004". Guess who is track 5 on that CD? Hayley, singing "In Trutina" i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hayley remains at number 2 in the UK Classical Artist chart issued 20th June, with Mario Lanza top and Amici Forever at 3. I won't know if Pure remains in the top 200 pop albums for a couple of days. Full update Thursday.

Hi dave, As usual, the information is fascinating. This would be even more interesting if there was any way we could put a sales figure to these details. Surely, she must be moving towards triple platinum by now. Keith.

Hi dave, As usual, the information is fascinating. This would be even more interesting if there was any way we could put a sales figure to these details. . There is. Well estimates, anyway, as the weekly sales figures are rarely published outside the music industry, except for a few of the top pop chart albums. Surely, she must be moving towards triple platinum by now. Keith. I did a recent estimate that came out at around 800,000 across-the-counter sales of Pure in the UK. We are obviously closer to 3X platinum that that though, as the platinum awards include unsold albums in shops. The trouble is, when Pure is dropping towards the bottom of the top 200 UK pop chart, weekly sales are something like 1,000 to 2,000 a week at most, so there won't be many sitting unsold in shops. What would they stock? A month's worth of sales? I don't know exactly but I don't think it would be enough to take it upto, say, 850,000 unless some stores are sitting on huge unsold stocks from early this year - unlikely as both my local Tesco and Woolworths currently have NO stocks of Pure. Would a new "sales" thread be useful, Keith? I could update my sales estimates reasonably accurately for most places where Pure has been released.
