From EveningTimesOnline... Violin star's city date is music to fans' ears STAR violinist Nicola Benedetti attracted a big crowd today when she made an appearance in Glasgow. Despite the rain the 18-year-old music sensation was dressed for the summer in a white cropped vest and trousers. She was given a rousing reception after performing several tunes from her new album Mendelssohn, MacMillan, Mozart. She then happily signed autographs for her adoring fans. The celebrated Ayrshire soloist was appearing in two Virgin Megastores in one day to launch her new album. After performing at the firm's Megastore in Buchanan Street, Glasgow it was a quick dash through to Edinburgh for a second show four hours later. Publication date 15/05/06 Roger

Hi Roger, I was aware that Nicola was visiting Edinburgh, but unfortunately couldn't make it in time to HMV today Today she did exactly what she did last year- signing sessions in HMV Glasgow and Edinburgh. I'll catch her when she performs at the Usher Hall in October this year though Regards, Andrew

Even I'm familiar with that term but to describe a girl as wearing a 'vest' and trousers? Or am I even more out of touch than I thought? Peter
