Dear All, Nicola's 2006 Album features as "Disc of the Month" in the top choice of new releases on CD in the June 2006 issue of 'Classic FM' Magazine. I have included scanned images of this article below: "Young Scottish violin virtuoso Nicola Benedetti makes Mendelssohn's music dance in her much anticipated new album." ('Classic FM' Magazine June 2006).

Now that the Amazon UK rankings are working again (after being broken for a week) we can see that Nicola's new album has reached the dizzy heights of no. 21 there as i write. Needless to say, this is an excellent result - albeit possibly caused by a general lack of availability of the album in the shops (making people order it online).
Unfortunately, I have so far been unable to find any of the big Supermarkets or general stores (like Woolworths) that has Nicola in this week's in-store chart, or in stock at all, not even the ones with a top 100 or more. This means it will be harder than expected (but not impossible) for Nicola's album to enter the top 75 pop chart as we were hoping it would... if it has to rely on internet ordering and specialist shops like HMV.
This (poor availability) could change by next week, of course - let's hope it does. Supermarkets in Scotland are, of course, more likely to be stocking this album than the ones further south.

Hi Dave, I searched every CD store/supermarket in my local town yesterday and would have bought it... only none of them had it. Roger

Hi Roger, There are 2 options... Either try 'Amazon' or I could buy a copy for you when I'm in HMV tomorrow... It all depends on how keen you are really! Knowing you Roger, you will be as keen as [glow=orange,4,300]MUSTARD[/glow] Am I right? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew, You are right in that I am keen to get it, and I surely will. However, I will be patient because I may well find it locally in a few days or, failing that, it won't be long until I am in London and can pick it up from HMV. I only buy CDs online as a last resort. Many thanks for the offer nevertheless. Roger PS. I am rather partial to mustard!

I like the bottom one, Andrew, a somewhat seductive look. Now that raises an interesting thought. Hayley I think of as wonderfully winsome, but not seductive and I don't want to think of her as seductive. But, she is growing into a young woman... Maybe her figure is not right for seductive poses just yet, its not her thing but... there's a very large still untapped audience out there...
I also found it interesting in that the top picture of Nicola has been taken on level with her lying face down on a bed or the ground. A feature i first noticed with a Charlotte Church pose and seems to be an essential shot in all portfolios, including Hayley's.

I don't think it is seductive. To me it is contemplative or dreamlike - maybe slightly wistful. Whatever, it is rather nice. Roger
