Well, if this is the Cottars on fire, may they never be extinguished! They are terrific....
This fine CD arrived today and, right from the opening track, I knew I was going to love them. Vocally, they are superb and instrumentally outstanding.
When I heard clips a few months ago, I noted the similarity between the Cottars and the Rankin Family. For anyone who never heard the Rankins, believe me, that is praise indeed.
This CD contains a perfect mix of foot-tapping jigs and beautifully soothing folk melodies. I have always loved the group sound and they come no better than this. Lovely voices, beautiful vocal harmonies, fine arrangements and magnicicent instrumentally.
Outstanding!
Once again, thanks Joe for introducing me to this extra-ordinary group.
Roger
PS. Their other CD is on order but not yet available. I hope it won't be too long!

Hello again Roger! The Cottars are quite simply the one of the best Celtic and folk groups of the day. I'm so glad you like the CD! The Cottars are still in their teens and full of energy! Their live show is amazing! Having met both families recently (the parents are also well-known musically), they are very humble, down-to-earth, and personable. I even travelled in the same lift w/ some of the group at our hotel! Hope the other one you ordered arrives shortly. The group may have just recorded their third CD. Cheers, Joe

Hi everyone! The CD's On Fire and Made in Cape Breton are both available in my public library. Hopefully, it won't take too long to get them, and when I do, I'll share my impressions with you. Oksy

Hi Oksy, I am so pleased to know you will hear those two fine CDs soon. They are both fantastic but I do have a preference. I won't tell you which yet as I don't want to influence your opinion (or did I say it in an earlier post?!) I look forward to hearing what you think about them. Enjoy! Love, Roger
