Fiona Pears has had a busy year, continuing to tour internationally backing Hayley Westenra and performing more and more in her own right. Highlights of the year include producing an orchestral session in Prague for Libera, the boys choir; performing solo and backing UK singer-songwriter Heather Nova in Bermuda; touring in Japan and Korea; performing with her band at the Chichester Festival; playing with and musically directing Westenra and Dave Dobbyn at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London; and a performance in the memorial concert at Passchendaele, attended by Helen Clark, among many others: "It was one of the most moving experiences I have ever had."

In February, when Pears was back here for a working holiday, which included 30 New Zealand gigs, her sell-out candle-lit show at Christchurch Cathedral with a band and a string section -- featuring Pears' usual eclectic mix of genres, from Hot Club jazz to tango, classical, Latin, Celtic and originals -- was recorded for DVD release. Today and tomorrow, Pears and her band will be celebrating the release of the DVD with concerts at the Harbour Light (24 London St, Lyttelton). Tickets $25, table reservations at www. harbourlight.co.nz, and door sales. Open 7pm, starts 8pm.

I'm now sure i want a copy of this DVD!!!
I saw her in Hamilton NZ, Sheperd's bush(LONDON) and at
Passchendaele tribute, and she is an FANTASTIC ARTIST!!!!
I have to find out ,how i'm gonna get this DVD!!!

I did not realize how good she is i love the violin and she plays it well.
