If I understand this German article correctly it says that Katherine Jenkins is considered a part in the Live 8 concert in Berlin............................. The Norwegian, internationally acclaimed band A-ha has confirmed that they will perform at this event. ( The vocalist Morten Harket, performed the UNICEF official song in duet with Hayley Westenra, earlier this year ) Another wonderful singer, Renee Olstead is apparently also considered to perform. ( Renee is an American with Norwegian background ) If it pulls through, it can be an interesting show. There will be several other artist appearing as well. www.berlinonline.de/berliner-zeitung/berlin_berlin/455585.html

According to her official site, she has been invited to open the concert! Katherine's appearance in Berlin is contributory to the fact that a planned tour of the US, later in July, has been postponed - including a concert in Las Vegas. The main reason for that postponement however is that she is recording her third UK album, and this has been taken more time than anticipated. Gerrit

Further to the Live-8 concert in Berlin - it is one of a series of 8 world-wide concerts, 7 of which are on July 2, the 8th on July 6 at Gleneagles, where the G-8 summit will be held. I think I now have an interesting item up at www.katherine-jenkins-international.com/ - an article from a German newspaper about the Berlin Live-8 concert, published yesterday - it must be one of the first newspaper articles in Germany that mentions Katherine! Don't worry if you can't read German - I have provided an English translation parallel to the German text. Gerrit

Hi all, interesting to read the article of Live-8-concert in Berlin with Katherine Jankins. Perhaps I will visit this concert and maybe it will be shown on TV? Greetings from Berlin, Lothar

Should be interesting in that case if Hayley and Katherine become competitors for the next Classical Brits. I do think though that the Hayley management should look at the Katherine management. For some reason or other, I get the impression that Katherine's career is developing more vibrantly, and with much more interest to fans regarding new releases, than Hayley's ....
