Hello everyone! I received an Email from HMV a few minutes ago to say that my copy of WSS has been shipped! So what happened to the 13th August release date? which according to my calendar is next Monday. Not that I'm complaining! Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant, I received a similar email from HMV this afternoon. If it has been sent by first class mail, it might even arrive tomorrow! Susie, open your windows and I'll turn the volume up! Roger

Hi everyone, I also wonder what happened to the August 13 release date. In fact, I'm still wondering why it has been pushed back from July 30 in the first place! Did you order it yet Marianne? Oh, and by the way, congratulations for your 700th post Stephany

Well, it didn't arrive in this morning's post. It isn't likely to be delivered tomorrow either as we have a 24-hour postal strike starting at 7pm this evening. Roll on Saturday! Roger

Hi Roger, If you get it before Monday I will be surprised. As I understand it, mail order firms are allowed to "ship" CDs before release date only if they will not be delivered before the actual release date. This is because the sales would not otherwise qualify for the correct week's charts and the charts position would be lowered. HMV, Amazon etc. probably have a deal covering this with the Royal Mail. But I hope you get it anyway, let us know! One thing I am concerned about is the deferred release date. All the promo activity by Hayley and Vittorio, including the concert, was timed for the original July 30 release date and that was reflected in its climb up the Amazon chart and prerelease chart. It has inevitably now fallen well back from around no. 80 to no. 248 today (no. 12 prerelease) and the 'buzz' has died down. At this stage, Treasure was I think in the top 20 (top 3 prerelease). Universal have some serious promotion to do in the next few days and next week, if WSS is to make a significant impact. I think if it only does as well as Treasure, it will be considered a flop. Get yer fingers out, UCJ!!! Cheers, Dave

HMV, I am sure (and Tescos), ships from Jersey to reduce the selling cost by avoiding VAT and therefore takes the extra couple of days in shipping.

Absolutely, Dave. That is why Grant and I were surprised to receive the email yesterday to say it had been shipped. If Drew is right in saying it will be despached from Jersey, that explains it. I haven't ordered online from HMV for a very long time so I can't remember how long it took. I have never ordered online from Tescos... except for groceries, and they certainly don't come from Jersey! Roger
