As soon as I heard the title, I was overwhelmed at Hayley's thoughtfulness. As I said to Steve Abbott, the reason for the name is obvious. It is called TREASURE because it is the: Third Really Exciting Album Sung Ultimately for Roger's Enjoyment. He replied the next day. He said he had tried to tell Hayley but he couldn't remember it! Hi All... Well Hayley has certainly kept us in suspense! Until the official word is out I'm saying nothing other than... well done to those who have crossed the 'Amazon' in search for hidden treasure! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI think 'Treasure' is a fantastic title for Hayley's new album, if that's the one to be! Regards, Andrew Hi Andrew, I searched for hidden treasure, and this is what I found : "https://i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifo not lay up treasures on earth for yourselves, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up treasures in Heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Mat 6:19-21 MKJV Love, Marianne i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Hi Marianne and everybody else, Indeed the word "treasure" gives us a lot of food for thought! Marianne, thank you for your reference to the scriptures (Mat 6:19-21). I agree whole heartedly! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I think Hayley was reflecting on the fear of the Lord as being the foundation and key to the treasure of salvation, wisdom and knowledge- with reference to: (Isaiah 33 v 5-6).
"The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure." Regards, Andrew

Hi Roger What can I say, I wonder how long it took Hayley to come up with that ? Or, did you suggest it to her when you last met her ? If Steve could have remembered it, she may have found it amusing Oh well, it made me smile ! Best regards Mark.

Hi All, Here's another thought... I recall that during the 'Christmas Presence' concert at 'The Sage' in Gateshead, Hayley described the song, 'Mary Did You Know' as a "real gem". Perhaps she thought that 'Treasure' would be an appropriate collective term for the "gems" (songs which she holds close to her heart) of her new album? Regards, Andrew

I popped into HMV in Derby today and placed my order for "Treasure". I thought I might catch them out, but no, they have it on their computer.
My receipt, however, just says 'Hayley Westenra 26/2' so maybe they haven't got a title yet.

Hayley did come up with the name herself didn't she? Its obvious, simply because the name she has chosen is about the album and not her. She could of called it 'I Am A Gorgeous Little Thing' - after herself (which is pretty acceptable really) but is a bit long a title. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI can't wait!

Hello Richard, You unearthed the: There is one thing i've noticed though, on all the websites so far that mention the record label, it is quoted as "Universal Classics" or "Universal Classics and Jazz" (UCJ) not Decca. Although Decca has, I think, been technically under the wing of UCJ for some time, it rather looks like the end of the Costa Pilavachi connection may heve led to the end of the Decca connection too... perhaps Costa's departure was a precursor to a change in management structure. I'm sure it makes sound business sense for UCJ - they do after all seem to look after Katherine Jenkins' interests well, though they are two very different singers. But I'm not so sure if it makes as good business sense from Hayley's point of view, I hope she has not been pushed against her wishes by UCJ into releasing albums much earlier in year and not at Christmas, to reduce the competition for Katherine who is, at the moment their "big name".... Cheers, Dave
