Seems like Hayley always has something up her sleeve and we find out about it sooner or later, like the West Side Story deal.
Clearly she can play her cards close to her vest! So what other special secrets about her career is she harboring, and why the need for secrecy in the first place? Are they (Decca, Bedlam, et al) afraid someone else will beat her to the punch or steal their creative plans? It almost seems paranoid that they need to keep things under wraps like they do.
I have a feeling something big is up, something that will dwarf the West Side Story thing and they're not letting us know 'til they're good and ready. What can it be?

Hi Steve,
There was no secret about West Side Story insofar as the news was made public as soon as all aspects of it were confirmed. To allow the story to leak any earlier could have proved highly embarrassing for all concerned (if it had not gone ahead), and unprofessional. The same applies to the music industry as it does in any professional organisation.
With that in mind, I feel that any further conjecture about future plans would be misleading and unhelpful.

I like surpirses too. Just have to wait and see what else Hayley has planned. Its like christmas with Hayley, can't wait until its time and when it is, you just know it was going to be good.
She says she has many secrete projects going and "West Side Story" was one of them... There must be something else when she said "many secrete projects"

... With that in mind, I feel that any further conjecture about future plans would be misleading and unhelpful. ... Ah, but that's what fan sites do! We hope and dream and conjecture about the artists we so admire! That's truly what separates us from an official site which merely tows the party line. I sincerely hope HWI doesn't exist primarily to serve as an extention of her official PR stance but, rather, allows a healthy bit of wondering and imagining about her future plans into the mix. After all, this is what independent fan sites are meant to do!

Hi Steve,
For members to express their hopes as to what Hayley may do in the future is perfectly acceptable, of course. To guess what she may or may not be planning before any announcement is made is treading on dangerous ground. Between the two is a grey area but HWI will endeavour to identify it and act accordingly if necessary.

That may include various guesses about her plans. What's so "dangerous" about this fan process that happens all the time? Look around at other artists' sites. It's perfectly normal.

I think, Steve, it comes down to two points, both of which I have mentioned before, although the first in a slightly different and more personal context, 1, Hayley doesn't like being pinned down too tightly. I think she has difficulty in making a commitment that might disbar her from an as yet unknown opportunity nearer the time. 2. The complexity of trade relationships. - Many people have to be consulted.
- There is small print in all contractual relationships, This small print requires legal eyes which takes 'release control' momentarily away from the main participants into the hands of 'paper shufflers'
- The need to keep all people involved in the loop and above all, in terms of release dates, giving everyone a fair crack of the whip for individual promotional gain.
- The need to master-mind an organised release/launch.
In all the above, Hayley and her management are in the everyday ambit of every company that has ever commissioned advertisers. Total secrecy is ESSENTIAL if for no other reason (and there will be many other reasons in her case) than to maximise the effect of the preliminary spend. It is not a question of not trusting her 'special' fans' or anyone else, it is a matter of down-to-earth sound business sense: 'need to know basis only' all round is the only commercially responsible attitude.
