Most of us listen to Hayley's songs in the original sequence on her CDs. This is fine if you agree with that predetermined order, but I find it very lacking at times. Why, for instance, should "River of Dreams" be followed directly by "Beat of Your Heart", or worse, why on earth would you have "Hine e Hine" precede "Across The Universe Of Time"? It just doesn't make sense to me.
So you are now invited to list your ideal sequence of Hayley songs. There are no rules and no suggestions other than to pick any songs from any CDs that represent the best personal listening experience. I'll start with my list, keeping it down to a tidy 10:
1. Never Say Goodbye ---- Is this not the best song with which to launch a Hayley music session? So peaceful, so calming, so easily followed by....
.... 2. Shenandoah ---- Another comforting tune ... very laid-back. Puts you in the right mood for....
.... 3. Dido's Lament ---- Still in low gear, this gorgeous little number soon whets the appetite for something a bit more exciting, such as....
.... 4. Wuthering Heights! ---- By now your toes are starting to tap, so what comes next? It can only be....
.... 5. Summer Fly! ---- A truly great song to get animated to. Give yourself lots of room to move. When it's over, what could be more appropriate than ....
.... 6. Pokarekare Ana ---- Think of it as a catch-your-breath song after the previous two romps. It perfectly sets up....
.... 7. Both Sides Now ---- This song provides a nice mental workout as you ponder its rich philosophical meaning. A nice prelude to....
.... 8. Summer Rain ---- A spectacularly beautiful piece that reminds you of just why you're a huge Hayley fan in the first place. Nicely complemented by....
.... 9. Heaven ---- Another dreamy song that both soothes and uplifts, setting the stage for....
.... 10. Dark Waltz ---- The ultimate Hayley song that cannot be topped, so I'll quit here.
