A Tribute Album is a collection of songs done by various artists in their own style to honor the musical achievements of a successful band or individual performer.
Sooner or later all the giants in the music biz get honored this way, and perhaps someday Hayley will be as well. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't be surprising if she performs on someone else's tribute album -- like "SOS" on the ABBA project or for Kate Bush.
But anyway, the task at hand is for us to select a bunch of Hayley songs and name the best other artists to deliver their own versions. For example: "Pokarekare Ana" by Natasha Bedingfield (It's not as big of a stretch as you might think!)
So I'll get us started...
River of Dreams ------ by Celine Dion

If an artist honors another artist by singing a cover version then it should be a song which is originally from her/him so that everybody relates the specific song to the singer who is honored. That means the song should be written and composed by by this singer... Well Frank Sinatra didn't write his own material and there have been several tribute albums around his work. I believe we can construct a tribute album around Hayley's "work" -- which in her case is mainly her exquisite rendering of songs. As far as I'm concerned, she "owns" songs like Dark Waltz, Pokarekare Ana, Heaven, Across the Universe of Time, Never Saw Blue... the list goes on and on. Such is the talent of this young artist that she has already claimed the definitive versions of the majority of songs she sings. At least I feel that way. I will keep this project going on this basis and I hope others will want to join in the fun. Okay, here's another Hayley tribute: "Dido's Lament" ----- by Dido (It doesn't get more inspired than that! )

Hine E Hine -- By Sophie Westenra Both Sides Now -- Leigh Nash
By the way, do tribute albums ever include covers by singers of the opposite gender? Could a male singer contribute to this album?

I think Across The Universe of Time would be quite good done by Metallica in sort of a big powerful ballad type song like The Unforgiven with bells and violins and such.
