It'll be interesting to see responses to this.

Every item which Hayley has signed for me has been signed personally (to me), therefore I cannot think that this would be good for anyone else (unless there was an identical name match).
Whenever I sell anything on eBay I always donate a percentage to charity. That charity is usually UNICEF unless there is another charity which is more appropriate to the item (eg Kylie Minogue tickets went to Breast Cancer).
So if we need any more bicycles I would be happen to auction off a signed copy of West Side Story (please Hayley and Vittorio).

Hi all
I have voted "I'd sell but would donate a chunk of the money" In fact I would only sell to donate all of the money.
I see occasionally items for sale on Ebay that have been signed to a particular person. I agree with Drew that they only have a value to the person they have been signed for. They don't even have a value to a person of the same name because they haven't been signed for that person.
I don't ask Hayley to sign everything I have because to me that devalues her signature. I have some things signed and they are "special" particularly the first things she ever signed for me; a couple of CD's and programmes.
I was lucky enough to get 'No. 1' of the signed poster for Hayley's UNICEF concert in London in September 2005 and that has already been offered back to Hayley should it become valuable enough to auction for UNICEF.
As far as I am concerned, anyone that sells signed items for any other reason, i.e. totally for profit, is taking unfair advantage of the celebrity, whoever they may be, signing the item in the first place.
Best wishes Grant

I voted that I might never get another. I have a complete run of Hayley's non-special CDs, and I don't want to break up the set. I will sometimes have Hayley sign one or two items to give to particular people, like a copy of Pure for Calire Halligan as a cheer-up gift when she had suffered a death in the family or a copy of Treasure for Tashi when Hayley appeared THREE TIMES in NY and Tashi couldn't make any of them.
Full disclosure, though, I did have her sign a copy of Pure at the Boston Pops which I intended to pass on to some worthy person but hadn't decided who, when I was approached by my parents who wanted to give it to a friend of theirs who was a fan and offered to buy it from me. I would have just given it, but they wanted to pay, so I said fine.

I'd say I may never get another, I mean I do understand that selling for charity is good, no problem there, but selling rare autographed stuff from Hayley for pure profit is not right. It's good to know that all of you would donate a chunk of $$ to charity if you ever sold anything with Hayley's signature, Hayley would be delighted. I don't have anything signed, but I believe since due to my location ( pretty far away from Hayley's "base") I may never get another. Meldy

Hi all, I've seen several signed items that are being sold on Ebay. One of them was personally signed. Example : 'Pure' autographed:"To Emmett"[/u][/b] (GBP 3.99). Who would buy (and sell) such a thing? Stephany

Hi Grant,
Sorry, I didn't mean any disrespect to Emmett. It's just something I don't understand.
Lots of love, Stephany

Hi Grant, Sorry, I didn't mean any disrespect to Emmett. It's just something I don't understand. Best wishes, Stephany Don't worry about it Stephany. Who knows why people sell things they obviously treasured at one time. More puzzling is why they expect people to buy them! Love Grant

Maybe i would buy....when my original disc was cracked or damaged, not for the autograph. I'm happy with my Odyssey 2nd NZ edition, with autograph and NZ tourbook, which was signed by HAYLEY and FIONA !!!!! Greetz JOYCE.

Hi Stephany, I know exactly what you mean... I'd never part with anything which Hayley had signed for me either. When Hayley signs items for you it's a really lovely personal touch... a CD signed by Hayley is the equivalent of an engraved trophy! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif When Hayley signs something for you after the concert it all adds to the memories of the evening... The "icing on the cake" if you like! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAndrew

Hi All, Perhaps one of the most unusual Hayley autographed items ever to be offered up for sale was a violin on eBay! as seen hereHmm... Hayley had written the following words on the violin: "Who Painted The Moon Black love Hayley Westenra xxx" Someone bought this autographed violin for $159.00 (US Dollars) Andrew

Hi All, I haven't touched this thread up to now as the idea of selling my own grandmother if she brought a good price just infuriates me. I get mad when I hear of the original WITA CD's being sold now for $500-$600 or so. Why did they buy them in the first place? To hear a delightful young girl's voice & watch carefully as she ascended her career path? No...possible investment...no soul !!! graeme

On a positive note, I'm only grateful that occasionally there are people out there willing to sell original copies of 'WITA' CDs so that people like us ("the enthusiasts") can buy and take care of them...
