Whilst there is a fairly serious debate about the Classical Brit Awards taking place HERE, I thought we might have some fun at the same time. This is therefore the Very Unofficial Classical Brit Awards! I have selected 10 albums which were released (in the UK) during 2006. Unlike the real event, we will allow voting from any country in the world! So, just for fun, which album gets your vote? Roger

Hello Roger and everybody! This was quite a difficult decision! I'm very impressed with All Angels' album, but in the end I couldn't vote against Hayley. I must add that both albums are wonderful! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMerry Christmas! Richard

I choose Hayley. Raymond( Great! I suddenly can reach the forum. I cannot come here for the last two days because of the broken wire due to the earthquake in Taiwan, I think it is better for me to write a post now to say that I am okay. I am not missing. I think I can reach here because it is now in the morning, it is not the rush hour. But I cannot reach some other sites such as Xanga. I also cannot check Yahoo emails. )

I didn't particularly enjoy any of those albums this year. Russell Watson's and Sarah Brightman's album seems to be forgotten though they both got to number one in the classical charts this year.
Odyssey, the original version I got, was okay, but the re-release wasn't very good. I chose Katherine's 'Serenade', though that album isn't particularly great. I almost chose All Angels... but...
I haven't heard the Fron choir. Is it worth getting?
The worst album award would go to either Il Divo or Angelis :/

Oh damn, I didn't see Nicola Bendetti! My vote goes to her! I just can't take my vote to Katherine back.

Nicola, how could you miss your own name Nicola in the list? But you may get another chance to vote, I will be able to determine the probable nominations for the real Classical Brits Album of the Year soon as the Classic FM Chart of The year is due to be broadcast tomorrow Saturday at 9am. However, it may be a week or two before I can be sure because Classic FM's cutoff date is often before Christmas week and positions often change in that, the biggest sales week of the year... and this week too will need to be allowed for. But at some point I'll know for sure and then, we can consider running another poll (some time between now and April ). Cheers, Dave

Dave, How many of the 10 nominations am I likely to have chosen for this poll? I guess it might be somewhere between nought and ten. Shall we hold a poll? Roger
