Hi all, Is anyone here on Last.fm? If yes, can you all please add me as a friend so I can listen to your music too Also, I have created a classical crossover community (about 4 hours ago so I'm still on my own!) I searched and searched last.fm but that was no other group like mine. So, if you are a member, join! Here it is (copy and paste this URL as the '+crossover' is part of it, but this forum doesn't seem to acknowledge it lol)** I have put Hayley at the top of the list so it will promote her more. If you join, and the more you play her, the more she will be promoted. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF LAST.FM: Why not? Lol! It's a great way to find new artists. It's a database that records your listening habits then supplies you with many artists, songs and albums it thinks you might like and it is very accurate. It connects you with people who listen to similar things as you so you can log on their page and see what new artists they have too. On top of that, any well known enough artist has their music on the page all ready for you to listen to. It has it's own radio network so when it figures out what you like, it supplies you with your own radio station and plays you music it thinks you might like. All in all, a very good place! I only found it six days ago. Get joining! Add me as a friend please! www.last.fm/user/CareALotsCloudsNicola x ** I hid the url, which fixed it /Dave see below

Hi Nicola! I just created my account; it's www.last.fm/user/la-jonquille/I'm not sure how to add artists and such to my profile yet, but I'll figure it out in time. The radio is /very/ good quality, and it plays international releases; so I'm happy with the download! Thanks for letting us know about the site. I hope to see more HWI members joining us! Oksy

Hello Nicola! Thanks for drawing the site to our attention, but I'm afraid I won't be joining. I looked up 'Hayley Westenra' on the site and there is a very offensive comment in the 'Shoutbox' section! Could somebody get it deleted, please! Meanwhile, I have removed the main link, but I've saved it for the time being. Best Wishes, Richard Edit: I have now restored the link as the offending comment has been removed.

Hey Richard,
I sent an e-mail to the team and hopefully they will take it off. Just waiting for their reply now. I'm really sorry you saw it, I didn't know it was there, and it shouldn't detract from the fact that the site is a fantastic idea.
Hopefully it will be gone soon. Nicola x

Wow... that was quick. They have removed it already. Shocking! All is well. Hi Nicola. I didn't look at the comment, but if it was THAT bad, then I think we're all better off not knowing!! I must say, however, that I am well impressed by the reaction of the administrators. 26 minutes from your edit to your post saying it had been removed!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifJust proves that if we want something to happen, then WE have to take responsibility and make it happen!! WELL DONE NICOLA!Grant

Hi Nicola,
Richard alerted me to that comment earlier today and, as I know you appreciate, it was not the sort of thing we would allow on this forum and therefore, we would not allow a link to anywhere containing such a message. However, well done to the Administrators of Last.fm for responding so quickly and thank you for your help in attaining the desired result.
If you're around, Richard, perhaps I could ask you to restore the link?
Thanks, Roger

Hello Nicola and Roger! I'm much happier now that we know any bad comments can be removed quickly. I have now restored the link in the first post, and I'm also moving this thread from 'Off-Topic Discussion' to 'Miscellaneous'. It is about Hayley after all. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

It was down right disrespectful. I can normally read anything without being shocked but it really was that bad. But at least it has been cleared up. I am pleased with the Administrators about this. I wasn't sure if they would take me seriously as comments like that are expected for most artists (Britney, Christina...) and if they didn't know who Hayley was I thought they would just ignore me. It literally took them ten minutes to read my e-mail, reply and take action. I was expecting days. Only makes me like the place even more. Thanks for restoring the link and I'm really sorry you saw the comment Richard. And yes, Roger, I completely understand. I'm just a bit embarrassed. I never seem to put topics in the right place...

I don't know, I'm sort of curious now...
It seems to be a busy site this time of day...

Oh dear. It's too bad about the comment... but as Nicola said, don't let that detract you from the whole site. Personally, I rarely read comments, review, and shoutouts on "open" sites like this one. YouTube is another site like that. There are some great Hayley videos on YouTube which I have been sending my friends to watch -- blatant endorsement! Unfortunately, one of them has a really vulgar comment (I'm not sure if it's still there, maybe it got taken off; but I'm not going to check because I don't want to read that again! ). The best advice I can offer is simply not to read the comments... but if no-one did, the offensive post would still be up on the shoutbox. So good job guys, on getting it taken off! Oksy

I don't want to take this off topic, but while searching for sites similar to Last.fm, I discovered Pandora, and I'm very impressed, to say the least. Try playing around with it, and you'll see what I mean. You can type in Hayley Westenra to start off with. Unfortunately, for legal reasons, Pandora registration is only available to US residents at the moment. www.pandora.com/Still enjoying Last.fm, though. Oksy

Thanks for the link to Pandora, Oksy! I entered 'Hayley Westenra' and it started playing 'Beat Of Your Heart'. I then tried pressing the skip button and it took me to Joni Mitchell, Charlotte Church, Sarah Brightman, Hayley again singing 'Never Saw Blue', Lisa Loeb, and finally Hem before telling me I couldn't skip any more tracks in this hour. It's an interesting site, but it seems rather limited in its capabilities. At least it's fun! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Hi everyone! Last.fm has indeed proved to be a successful way of endorsing Hayley! About four months ago, I told a user about Hayley's music. He had never even heard her name, but immediately began to listen her music... within four months, he's played her songs over 600 times! Oksy
