I think you may have underestimated there, Raymond.  Let's say that everyone who bought a copy of Pure is a fan - that's 2,000,000. And then there's all those who have gone to concerts specifically to see her. That must double the number. So, I'm going to say 4 million.  Keith. |

Before reading Keith's reply, my feeling was also that 3 million was an underestimate. But it is an impossible question to answer with any degree of certainty. For one thing, at what point does someone who likes Hayley become a fan? Do they only need to buy one CD? Or do they just need to listen to it and be suitably impressed? Or must they be intent on finding out more about her and seeing her in concert etc? Also, for every copy of Pure that has been sold, most of them will have been heard by several people within the family, the majority of whom will probably like it. All things considered, I will say the figure is in excess of FIVE million. Any advance on that?  Roger |

Hello Raymond, Keith and Roger! I know quite a few people who like Hayley because they've seen her on TV, although they haven't actually bought "Pure" yet, so I think the number is much greater still. I was just perusing Hayley's My Space site and I was impressed by the amount of posts. I would be hard pressed to guess the number of fans Hayley has. I noticed that many of the posts were from the U S.

Hayley's fans must number in the many millions at this point. CD sales are just one way of assessing how many we are but they don't tell the whole story. Countless people hold her in high esteem based on whatever exposure they had, many upon first hearing. Not all of these fans are accounted for by basic estimates. Who knows, the exact number of her fans might just turn out to be 10,872, 693. Does anyone have a better guess?
