Hi All,
Here's a suggestion for a cover song which I would really love to hear Hayley sing. This is a real classic "cornerstone" song in the genre of folk music(Hayley has aspirations for singing more folk music). The song could be included at the end of her concert set. I didn't choose this song for its title, but the title is ironic, since Hayley's concerts seem to be over so quickly!
'Who Knows Where the Time Goes'

Have a listen to a sample of the song here:
www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/soldonsong/songlibrary/covers/whoknows.shtml
Lyrics:
Across the evening sky
All the birds are leaving
But how can they know
It's time for them to go?
Before the winter fire
I will still be dreaming
I do not count the time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
Sad deserted shore
your fickle friends are leaving
Ah, then you know
It's time for them to go
But I will still be here
I have no thought of leaving
You know I have no thought of time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
And I am not alone
While my love is near me
I know it will be so
Until it's time to go
So come the storms of winter
And then the birds in spring again
I do not fear the time
For who knows where the time goes?
Who knows where the time goes?
I discovered a very interesting fact here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Knows_Where_the_Time_Goes
"The Judy Collins version is the title track of her 1968 album, although an earlier version had appeared as the B-side of Both Sides Now. Both of these appeared prior to the Fairport Convention recording."
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
Regards,
Andrew
