I was listening to the radio yesterday; and I've thought of a few songs that Hayley would sing brilliantly. One is "You Light Up My Life". I think Crystal Gayle sung it. You know it...You light up my life, you give me hope to carry on, you light up my day... Also heard some songs by Anne Murray ("You Needed Me", "Shadows in the Moonlight").

Hello again everybody! Last night I was listening to "Your Hundred Best Tunes" on BBC Radio 2 when Richard Baker played "The Old Rugged Cross", sung by the Morriston Orpheus Choir. Hearing it sung by a male voice choir, I immediately thought how much better it would sound if Hayley sang it with a small backing, e.g. violin and piano, as some of us heard at Olympia. I would dearly love to hear Hayley sing it during one of her regular appearances on "Songs of Praise", and it would be a must if she decides to record a religious album as one of her future projects. Now there's an idea! When I was chatting to Hayley at Olympia last Sunday, she seemed very impressed when I told her I appeared on "Songs of Praise" back in 1992, even though I was only a member of the congregation. I'm sure she'll be relieved to know that singing a duet with Hayley is not one of my ambitions just yet! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWhile I'm on line, I would like to remind everybody that Hayley will be 18 on 10th April, so please don't forget to post your messages on Hayley's 18th Birthday Message thread in the Celebration section of the Forum. Bye for now, Richard

I would like to hear Hayley sing... Carrickfurgus. Charlotte Church did a good job on it but I would love to hear Hayley's. Although Hayley might not want to sing it because everyone would immediately compare (Yet again ) to Charlotte Church. But no matter what Hayley does they compare - so it's a possibility!!

Hello again Natasha! I don't think comparisons with Ch... you know who matter any more, because Hayley's career has now progressed so much further. I totally agree that Hayley would do a great job with this song, and perhaps she could sing the correct words. I used to follow the Irish music scene, but I don't any more. Bye for now, Richard
