My suggestion for a song for Hayley would be Bailero from Songs of the Auvergne.
This is a beautiful, pastoral work and I believe that Hayley's voice would be absolutely perfect for it. She sings in just the right soprano register to get the best out of it and to give the best to it. I believe that this would prove to be a very popular choice and would probably serve well as a single, too.

I'd like to suggest 'O Mio Babbino Caro'. Also Sting's 'Fields of Gold'; Hayley has already met Sting.

Two great suggestions there, Joe. The thing with Hayley is that when she does a cover version, she does it better than the original. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Makes for a very interesting wait for them to come out. Anyone else with suggestions?

Anyone else with suggestions? Yeah, I have some suggestions. One piece which has always nearly moved me to tears is Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, composed by the Brazilian conductor, Heitor Villa-Lobos. Mr. Villa-Lobos lived from 1887-1959, and composed some profoundly moving music, both orchestral and vocal. Here is a link to Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, so that you can all hear what it sounds like: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00000GCAG001001/0/102-1181283-9128105I think that Hayley could probably sing it, brilliantly. Another suggestion that I have is, the "Flower Duet" from the opera Lakme, by the French composer Delibes. This song from Lakme is absolutely GORGEOUS, and Hayley could really shine on this one! Hayley could record her voice for the two parts, on two tracks, and then blend the tracks together as a duet for her next CD! Here is the link for the "Flower Duet" from Lakme: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B000060OHV001002/0/102-1181283-9128105

What about "Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)" ? I like that suggestion! "Vincent" is a beautiful song - and of course, my Dutch parochialism demands that I should support the submission of "Vincent" (Van Gogh). The song was written in honour of this Dutch painter, and moreover, he was born exactly 101 years before me - we share our birthdays! Gerrit

Happy New Year to all Hayley fans everywhere, I know a good song that I'd love to hear Hayley sing.
I recently bought the Aled Jones Christmas Album for the duet of "Silent Night" with Hayley, and what a beautiful track it is! On the album, Aled sings "Oh Holy Night", and I immediately realised that Hayley's voice would really make this song something extra special. I can almost hear Hayley sing it in my mind, and I'm sure she'll want to record another Christmas Album before too long.
I know the song has been recorded by many other singers, including Luciano Pavarotti and Charlotte Church, but that shouldn't be any problem. It would also be a perfect song for Hayley to sing on "Songs of Praise".
Best Wishes to everybody,
Richard Norrington

I'm surprised this track isn't 20 pages long giving the fact that Hayley would enhance any song and make it her own.
I would very much like to hear her sing the "Flower Duet" only not with herself. Sophie would make a great duet partner and I know we are all looking forward to Sophie making her own waves.

I too can almost hear Hayley singing it in my mind but then I have an advantage in that I have actually heard her sing it live. (Sorry!) She performed it when she appeared as a guest of Jose Carreras at the Royal Albert Hall on 10th December 2003. She was as delightful as ever and her rendition of "Oh Holy Night" was spellbinding. I think O Holy Night would be a superb song for Hayley to record on a Christmas album.
I am also thinking that Aria on Air, by Malcolm McLaren, could be a good one for Hayley to record on a general release album. It is very different to anything she has done. I just wonder if it may prove to be a bit too advanced for her voice just yet.
If anyone can remember the music that was used on the British Airways advert from a few years ago. That is it.
I have a copy of the full version which I could upload to the Hayley group if anyone wants to hear it.
Keith.

I'd like to hear Hayley do this song: Together we will Stand - it was written for 9/11.
I heard the orriginal singer, Jenifer LaMountain sing it live but I think Hayley would do a better job....
