"Un Bel Di" from the opera "Madame Butterfly" by Puccini.
I have had this dream/fantasy of Hayley performing that song, maybe due to the dynamics of the song?

Maybe eventually, but I don't think she should attempt it yet.

And why do you think so?

Hayley's voice can never attempt Madama Butterfly. She doesn't have the technique or the tone. She's best sticking to Joni Mitchell-esque ballads.

Interesting comment, Portia, rather echoing an earlier post of mine regarding the 'operatic' voice. Personally, I don't give up on the thought but I don't think she's anywhere near ready to give such things a try right now. However, as regards tone, I'm not so sure: technique, I agree, but may I suggest the tone evaluation may be subjective because of consolidated past expectations? Peter

Thanks, wormy, nice to say 'Hi!' to you.
Yes, I would love to hear her sing opera but here I think (referring at least to myself) I am mixing my music and singer, wherein lies the subjectivity of the listener as opposed to the objectivity of the performer! Peter
