Hi Folks. I once had a Reliant TW9E three wheel van, things have improved a little since then It's far more reliable than the Reliant. There was 22,000 miles on the clock when it went to the scrapyard, I think we pushed it about 21,0000 of them, I don't miss it that much. I reckon I've gone off topic on this one by now. Hi Comet, I had a bright yellow 1972 Reliant Scimitar GTE SE5a 5 years ago which I insured under classic car insurance (limited mileage second car). It had the old Essex 3 litre V6 engine which was very robust, the streamlined fibreglass bodyshell and nice set of Wolfrace slot alloys. I will have to show you a photo of it- I have a few. I will look forward to talking to you about 1970s icon automobiles some time soon- perhaps even on the next 'HWW' chat session whilst we're waiting for all the other guests to arrive? All the very best, Andrew

Thanks Rodders, I aways think everyones against me. I can't help it and I don't want to go on the funny pills, so thats just the why I am. I hope people understand that. I don't know why I brought the wally thing up, but I don't mind being a wally now. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Andrew.
Re: Reliants Mine was yellow too !
The only other colour I ever saw them in was Plastecine Brown(Model making clay) You know the colour you got when you mixed all the other colours together.
Yuk !
Is there a proper thread for this lot ?

Hi Belinda Thank you for the Invitation to chatroom on Friday night. But with Christmas coming I have a prior party invitation to go and celebrate a birthday I hope to return early enough to join the chat in the wee small hours. I would not dare discuss in mixed company anything as boring as cars or engines. Going off thread as usual There is a type of engine called an ENYA, So one might buy a slightly used exhaust for an ENYA. Hmmmm Very Interesting ! There are a few items listed under Enya on Ebay I found them whilst looking for a CD. Depending on the amount of Drambuie consumed on the night I will do my best to drop in, Best of luck anyway on the night and thank you again for the invitation.

Hi Comet, have fun at the party haha if you do have to much drambuie you will probably tell us all about the Enya is that for a real Car or model Plane/Car. If the chat place don't hurry with the activation email we may not have a new chat room in time Belinda NZ

Hi Jon, I edited your post as discretely as possible in a way that I deemed necessary in order to maintain the family values of this forum. As you have brought it to everyone's attention, I will respond in public. I never suggested that you were "https://i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifistateful". I merely pointed out in a PM that a couple of your words might have offended some of our members. It would have been irresponsible of me to allow that to happen. As I said in that PM, any remarks which I (or any of the Moderators) consider distasteful shall be removed, no matter who makes them. I trust this clarifies the situation. Roger I don't think all people are aware of the enormity of the work that goes on behind the scenes to make this board as excellent as it is. I have absolutely no idea of the specifics of this matter--and such knowledge is NOT RELEVANT. As someone who has occasionally adopted a variant view to one or other of the moderators, I shall presume to stick in an oar in support of the Moderators. Moderators PM as both a courtesy to the poster but also by way of explanation as to the reason behind their edits, as that is the only medium by which the detail may be discussed if the original post is determined inappropriate--otherwise it is done quite openly! We have to remember (which I don't always) that we are: - in support of a peerless international star
- are a family forum with some very young people
- recognise that that which is acceptable in one language or custom may be unacceptable in an other culture.
We may at times appear as if we are in a kindergarten or primary school. That's the way the world wags. In my case, only recently I horrified and embarrassed my American friend's wife (he is dual nationality) by sending him an email with a bold capped subject head that in British English is perfectly innocuous but in American English downright rude. I had forgotten. They both shared a good laugh when he had explained the innocence of the English meaning. In short, there have been times when the Mods have reminded me of our audience that I had forgotten. There have also been times when we have agreed to differ. But they are the moderators and when the umpire calls the umpire has called. That is the public arena. Disputes are for the privacy of the members room afterwards. The mods don't like interfering. In fact they can feel quite personally hurt when reasonable disputes occur but are allowed to get out of hand by members taking unreasoning exception, other than to PM their views and objectively discuss the issues at stake. What goes PM should stay PM. It is also important, as Roger stated, in effect, that the criticism is of the post not the poster. Peter S.

Always remember Jon, that only sane people think they're daft. The daft ones daren't risk it so are convinced they're the only ones who are sane!

Hi everyone
I have read the above and think I understand ! However, I think your comments Peter ,about this site in general and the way it runs are spot on. I thought it was safe to bring this thread back on topic again now by saying that I hope to be able to join the chat this Friday 1st December. I may of course not be able to concentrate to well, given that the next day I am off to see Hayley. I will apologise now in advance !!
Looking forward to chatting with you again Belinda and whoever else drops by.
Mark

I have my American friend over this week and I may be at a show with him in town, or bedding down early for a long haul on Saturday when I shall be driving him around, collecting him in London, taking him to Brighton for lunch (and seeing mutual friends) and then back perhaps for a show again, so I may need early shut-eye, or say no more than 'Hi!' and go. Hopefully, I shan't be missed in that there seemed a surfeit of would-be participants last time. Peter S.

Hi Folks, Good luck and happy chatting Saturday / Friday Does this mean people in Europe on Friday night will be talking to people from the future (Saturday) Thats amazing !
With a bit of luck I'll be dancing with people from the past like Springsteen, The Stones, Rod Stewart. Smokie etc. and thats just the S's.
Off thread again, recent posts will probably have to be increased to 100 just to cater for the large increase in "Round Objects"
Andrew, a good place to start on classic cars, There's a lot of black ones (Ford).
Have fun folks !
