Hi everyone.
Well, the title of this thread clearly does not come from the prime suspect (name of suspect edited by me in anticipation otherwise of Roger's blue pencil, reminding me we are an international faith site) so it could only come from William Shakespeare. I'm sure everyone recognised that. I'll leave their ingenuity to quote Play, Act and scene for themselves--even I gave up quoting line numbers after leaving school!
I was following Richard's and possibly Roger's encouragement in time past to wander elsewhere (as long as I came back) and I have just done that. Not all sites gave me their membership but while the official site at Decca has only been going (forum option--and I wonder if that was started because of the success of WHI!? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif) since autumn 2005 and WHI some five times longer(?), I found the following statistics interesting.
Decca Official site: Total Topics: 549 - Total Posts: 6835
Total Members: 633
WHI (best INDEPENDENT) Hayley fan site: Total Topics: 1,470 - Total Posts: 15,762
Total Members: 122
Whether or not I will formally join the official site, I need to do a little more visiting to get the feel of it before deciding. My philosophy is to try and do one thing well and sometimes I have difficulty in doing that here! I also wonder if there is not too much diversity here but then, all the other sites seem extraordinarily tame in comparison with WHI, even the official site!
There is diversity, as one might expect of sites run by individuals and therein lies some of their problems, keeping up to date! Even on this site some links to other web sits have died, but of course you do not eliminate immediately, it could simply be due to a temporary server fault.
Certainly across all of them Hayley is well served and from that viewpoint it all helps to keep her name prominent. Regarding ourselves, I think we are as good as we are because there is a team behind us, which enables immediacy of news response and the various singularly active members seem to complement one another rather than duplicate, in terms of their interests and modus operandi of contributing.
Early days, but now that I have started to wander, I'll perhaps report back periodically as I find matters of interest.
Peter
