Take this fun poll to weigh in on whether Hayley looks better in dresses or pants.

Hi Steve!
I'm going to jump in with both feet on this one and have voted 'either'
Hayley has, as far as I am concerned, an amazing dress sense, coupled with the fact that she is absolutely gorgious she would probably make a rubbish sack look elegant!
Seriously, she has some really lovely dresses and gowns for her stage appearances, but when she's wearing jeans and a top she gives that wonderful 'down to earth' aura that fits her so well.
For me, this is a no brainer but it will be interesting to see how the voting goes.
Best wishes Grant

I'm not saying Hayley *has* to impress us, but I think its cool that she goes that extra mile wear those beautiful dresses for us her audience when she performs. When she isn't performing I would think she should wear what she feels comfortable in, which I think would be jeans and T-shirts. Jeans and T-shirts are also much easier to clean, so if she is eating some chocolate and gets some on her clothes instead of her face (or something like that) the repercussions are much less than if she is wearing her Celtic green dress Just my $.02. I voted for dresses! Hayley looks good in trousers or jeans too. Also, the epitome of her grace is reflected in her gorgeous dresses.

I voted for "either" but I would add that it is very much dependent upon the venue. When she appears in a conventional concert hall or a cathedral, then a dress would be preferable. But that would not have looked right at the Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre (10 July 2005), where she wore jeans and a top.
For some reason, I don't take as much notice of what she is wearing as many of you do. I wouldn't know what she wore at Hurtwood, for example, and that was only three days ago. I recall she wore a series of dresses but I wouldn't know which ones if it weren't for the photographs on this forum!

I voted for dresses.

I agree, Hayley looks good in almost any outfit, though I am not sure I remember seeing her in a pants suit. Jeans plenty of times, but not really a suit.

I voted for pants, too. Although she has some amazing dresses and gowns, my favourite will always be jeans which is what she wore the first few times I saw her perform. She seems much more herself when she's not all formal.

I don't mean to say "I told you so" but from the awesome reports out of Shepherds Bush Empire, Hayley was nothing short of bedazzling in her jeans! Clearly this is the best way for her to perform (unless it's for stodgy elitists and fashionistas)..

A very good point Steve! it was the first time I've seen her perform in anything other than dresses or gowns and she did look amazing, especially with that top!
I also noticed something when she played "Sonny" on the keyboard that perhaps wouldn't have been a problem with a piano - lets just say that perhaps she wouldn't have looked that elegant wearing a dress to play that particular keyboard!
Best wishes Grant

I think we got a ton of great reports partly becuase of good fellowship and it being a mostly Hayley and friends event. True, she would not have looked elegant wearing a dress at that keyboard, but at a grand piano she'd have looked perfect.
I do think Hayley by now is totally comfortable in anything, so I'm with Roger, it's just a matter of where and what she's singing. As a person, of course, Hayley is Hayley, and she'll always be welcome no matter what she has on.
