That I do indeed remember, Andrew. The colour suits her. Is it your tartan or did you try and research a possible genuine connection for her?

Dear All, Here's a lovely picture of Hayley which I found in the 'NZ Herald' newspaper article at the following link: www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=1&ObjectID=10380911I located the newspaper article after reading additional reports related to Belinda's scanned article. Perhaps sometime in the future there will be a series of Hayley postage stamps available. An image like this one would be good for a postage stamp design wouldn't you agree? Regards, Andrew I suppose even in NZ the franking machines are automatic! Who in their right mind would frank that beautiful face? But then, there wouldn't be a need, they would surely be kept rather than re-used for a free posting! So, it might be a cost-effect operation--no need to frank the mail! Peter

in regards to the hayley stamp issue... nz post does do personalised stamps stamps.nzpost.co.nz/Cultures/en-NZ/Stamps/PersonalisedStamps/so make your own if you really want. though of course it would be nicer to have a hayley issue for real... and fortunatly nz post doesnt have a policy against living people being on stamps... robert

Hi All, I like this picture of Hayley and Roger. I sourced this picture from Roger's Tewkesbury Abbey Concert Review of 14th November 2005. Roger it's interesting to see Hayley with this acoustic guitar. The guitar looks like a copy of a 'Gibson Dove' although this one is not the 'Epiphone' version. Can you tell me any more about the guitar? Who does it belong to? Maybe it's yours Roger? Is this guitar a version of the 'Dove' by 'Asia' guitars? (I think that's the name I can read on the headstock). I've seen previous pictures of Hayley sitting with a classical guitar (nylon and metal strings) but never one with an acoustic model like this one. Did Hayley play you a tune/ strum a few chords? Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew, Huh, it came as a surprise to see that again! Yes, it is an Aria which had been mine for about 25 years until that evening. I read somewhere that Hayley's guitar was back home in NZ and that she had to borrow one whenever she was in London. As I hadn't played for years, I gave it to her. The scratchboard indeed has a picture of a dove, so you could be right!... She strummed a couple of chords - incredibly softly! Apparently, both Steve Abbott and Ian Tilley were admiring it later that night! Roger

Hi Roger, WOW- what a lovely gesture by a great guy!!! The Aria guitar which you gave Hayley looks very like a 'Gibson Dove' . If you look on the saddle you can also see 2 inlays which look like the shapes of doves facing one another too. Roger, I'm totally stunned by your generosity! What a lovely thought it was of yours to donate a guitar to Hayley. That guitar you gave Hayley will have a lovely sound- I can tell, because I'm familiar with "big body" guitars like that. My "everyday workhorse" guitar is quite similar to that one. It's a copy of a 'Gibson Hummingbird' - to be precise, it's an 'Epiphone Hummingbird' which is the 'Gibson' approved much cheaper version... I'll take a photo of it and post it up for you! There' s actually quite funny story about it. I ordered it from a particular guitar shop in Edinburgh as a special order, since at that time in 2001, the 'Epiphone Hummingbird' wasn't a model which was kept in stock. I had also requested that a 'fishman' pickup should be fitted to the saddle and a jack input plug be fitted, in order that I might be able to play "plugged" if necessary. I had to wait for 3 months for the guitar to be shipped from the USA, as opposed to the 2 months I had been promised. When the guitar finally arrived I asked the staff if they would be willing to drop the price a little due to the inconvenience of having to wait the extra month. They told me that they couldn't do that, but were instead willing to donate a leather guitar strap to me instead! I was pleased with their offer and accepted it with gratitude. I proudly left the shop carrying my new guitar in it's nice case. On returning to the car I discovered a "nice" parking ticket on the windscreen (the fine was to the same value as the leather guitar strap which I had received!) Andrew (Now busking to try to earn the equivalent of the parking fine in cash!)

Hi Roger, Here's my guitar, an 'Epiphone Hummingbird'. As you can see it is a very similar design to the 'Aria Dove' which you donated to Hayley. Even the scratchplate is somewhat similar! Again, what a lovely gesture that was on your part! Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew, That is a fine looking instrument. I never had a pick-up permanently attached but I often used one that I clipped across the soundhole when my group played at large venues. My biggest problem was that it was a Japanese guitar with American strings and they just couldn't forget Pearl Harbour! Roger

Hi Elizabeth and welcome to the forum. The picture in my avatar was taken by one of the HWI Site Photographer's, Steve H, just last week at the Global Angels concert in Cadogan Hall in London. Hello Elizabeth, and welcome to the Forum! If you like that photograph of Hayley, there are plenty more on the Cadogan Hall and Wisley threads on the 'Hayley in Concert' board. The pictures of Hayley at Cadogan Hall start here, and those at Wisley start here. There are several pages of photographs on both threads, taken by Dave, Steve, Stuart and George, and these are some of the best photographs of Hayley that I've ever seen! Happy viewing! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard
