Hi Steve, I agree that "voaa" has been overused and I also tend to cringe when I hear it being applied to Hayley. And I suspect she does too. I would just point out though that it was not Oksana who applied the term; she was merely listing names that had been applied by others. Roger

At the Christmas Presence concert in Sheffield, the MC introduced Hayley with "She looks and sounds like an angel..." and of course she does!! Grant

Hi Grant,
Yeah, I think to say "she looks and sounds like an angels" is just about acceptable and probably inevitable. It is that "voaa" epithet that gets a bit tiresome. To be fair, I guess it becomes increasingly difficult for people to introduce her without such repetition.

Roger I am delighted to say i've never heard that 'expression' before! What does it mean? EDIT. Having, the other day, deleted a post because i got myself totally confused rather than simply deleting this post I'll amend it Usually I jump to the last of the 'top 30' and work backwards in sequence of posting. For some reason just lately I have worked down it. Consequently I have now discovered the origin of voaa--Voice Of An Angel!! Peter S.

Hi Peter, "Voaa" is an abbreviation for "Voice of an angel"! Roger... only I don't have one! It's because I thought there might be an imemdiate response from you 'in the machinery' that I didn't delete my earlier post! Just for the record, the post I did delete the other day was due to a complete misunderstanding on my part and so was utter nonsense. I do appreciate the hassle such actions can cause and don't do it lightly. Peter S.

I've just found a title for Hayley that no one else seems to (or dared to!) mention.
I was playing around on the home page and clicked on the WOW FACTOR where there is the One News - NZ report on her Outstanding young person achievement.
The credit says simply "Hayley Westenra - Singer"
bit of an understatement!!

... What I did find however, was the following quote from Steve M acDonald who is a regular contributor to this site: "the most ravishingly beautiful human voice in all of existence"I can't help but go all the way with that one!!!!! Graemek Yikes! Did I really say that?? That's pouring it on rather thick, don't ya think? Hi Steve, It might be pouring it on a bit thick but thats not unjustified when its so true! There is something so awesome sounding about that word "ravishingly" The "in all of existence" part is probably a bit of overshot, but its very fun reading nonetheless Thanks for making alot of us fans smile when we read that Peter

Titles are great, but has anyone thought of giving Hayley a decent nickname?
Many stars have fun tags like "La Divina", "The Voice", "Ol' Blue Eyes", "Babs", "The Velvet Fog", "The King", 'Crazy Chick", "The Material Girl", etc.
Now that she's gone 5 albums, a good, whimsical nickname for Hayley is overdue. Here's are a few suggestions and please feel free to add your own:
1. HayLo ------- in honor of her angelic voice 2. La Treasura -------- for the richness of her talent and her gold and platinum CDs 3. Ms. Perfecta ------- because you can bet on her pitch being exact 4. KiWest --------- for the idyllic splendor her singing conjures up 5. Goddyssey --------- a play on "goddess", "odyssey" and, most importantly, "gotta see her"

How about Dame Haley Westenra as a title. Someone tell the Queen to knight her.
