Just now when I was travelling back home from my exam centre, the radio played part of Hayley's Scarborough Fair, which was included in a new compilation album called Close to You. I think probably it's only released locally in Hong Kong, but I'll post the link of HMV here anyway: www.hmv.com.hk/product/jazz.asp?sku=337911 Over The Rainbow - Eva Cassidy 2 I’ll Have To Say I Love You In A Song - Susan Wong 3 Colors of the Wind - Freya Lin 4 Yesterday - Jiafei 5 Life - Sofia Kallgren 6 Someone Like You - Sissel 7 Just the way you are - Shunza 8 I Wanna Make it with you - Olivia 9 So Far Away - Noon 10 So Nice - Ayako Kawahara 11 Both Sides Now - .Ann Sally 12 You’ve Got A Friend - Judy Hall with Jordan Lee 13 Time After Time - Alemay Fernandez 14 Scarborough Fair - Hayley Westenra 15 Rainy Days And Mondays - Emmy Rossum 16 The Water Is Wide - Strengemusikken 17 Lovin’You - Marcela Mangabeira 18 Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow - Inger Marie Gundersen It's quite interesting because Scarborough Fair is not one of the songs for which Hayley is best known. I'd expect Pokarekare Ana or Both Sides Now, but Scarborough Fair? Intriguing.

Scarbouough Fair! It is however the best version of that song I have ever heard. But I've come to expect that with Hayley, and with whatever song she choses to sing. I haven't heard all of the renditions on this album bit it might be improved by:
1. Over the Rainbow - Celtic Woman 4. Yesterday -Hayley Westenra . What other Beatles song would she have recorded for "Light", her fourth international album. 11. Is this really better than Hayley's version? I doubt it 16. Ditto 18 Hayley singing that fabulous Carole King song.. What an idea!

Hi Martin 4. Yesterday -Hayley Westenra . What other Beatles song would she have recorded for "Light", her fourth international album. I've often wondered this. How about Let It Be? This has the advantage that she could do two versions: one with full orchestra and choir which would sound like the hymn it was meant to be, and another just accompanying herself on piano, which she could also do in concerts! Regards Colin
