Jon, it's just a silly paragraph from a not very cleverly worded newsletter. There are of course no opera singers on the CD so they can't (and I am sure don't want to) take over from Pavarotti or Callas.
By fans, I mean the 80,000 people who bought Treasure in the UK - if they didn't buy it, I wouldn't call them Hayley fans - not even if they own Pure. OK you can add maybe 90,000 people who bought Blake, 50,000 who bought Jonathan Ansell and a few thousand for the others but after allowing for overlap, that's probably well under 200,000 individuals. There are a lot more classical crossover music buyers in the UK than that and I imagine that UCJ want a bigger piece of them for these 5 artists.
But as you say, implying that they are opera singers won't do anyone any favours, let's hope we hear no more of this nonsense from UCJ.
If it's a new recording of Lascia by Hayley, I shall buy this CD as it is, I think, the operatic aria that Hayley sings best.

Hello everyone My copy of this album arrived today and I'm playing it now. I don't think Hayley's 'Lascia' is a new recording though. same playing time, same arrangers and it sounds the same to me. Still enjoying it though! EDIT: Thoroughly enjoyed this mini-album! Particularly liked Blake's "1492 Conquest of Paradise", very reminiscent of "Anthem" from Chess and some of the songs from 'Les Mis.' Will was a surprise - an incredibly powerful voice for a young chap and I can certainly see why Stephany goes weak at the knees I probably wouldn't go out and buy a complete album but I'm very pleased I decided to add this one to my collection. Best wishes Grant

Yes, I forgot to post information about this album. Will e-mailed me a few weeks ago, but I was just too busy with assessments...I'm glad someone got to it before I did....
