Hi cesium133, Welcome to our forum! I looked at your profile... and you were born four days before me! And we both *need* WiTA. True, it's quite a rarity. But if you believe in your heart that you will one day receive a copy; then there's a good chance that you will. All I can say is try some online auction sites. What are some of your fav. songs from the CD? Hope you will be a regular poster. Joe

Joe, I have never heard any of the tracks from WITA. However, I have all of Hayley's other albums, so I will make a very small leap of faith and say that this is something I would want both for the quality and, of course, to finish my collection. And Gerrit, I like the part of the Gospels where He says, "Ask, and thou shalt receive; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it will be opened unto thee." Well, I've been asking everyone, seeking everywhere, and knocking until my knuckles have become devoid of skin. So there you go My best hope is someone will put this album on eBay sometime, not knowing what they have, and trigger a bidding war (which I will join and win) the likes of which that auction site may never have seen... cesium... et die octavo, Deus vocem Heliae creavit, et scivit eam esse bonam...

As a new member, I'm still finding my way around and have only just found this string.
Having read through it, I agree with much of the sentiment expressed; I can certainly understand Gerald's concerns about about re-releasing an album that may not, technically, be up to the standard of Hayley's later CD's.
As someone ho has so far collected some 30 Hayley CD's (including 6 different releases of Odyssey and Oddysey Special Editions) I would love a copy of Walking In The Air.
Perhaps Gerald could be persuaded if it were re-issued as a "Collector's Edition" at a suitable price (I don't want to suggest what'suitable' might be but I feel we would be prepared to pay 'quite a lot' for the privilege of owning a copy!).
Revenue from the sale could be for the benefit of UNICEF.
What do others think?
Grant

As suggested under the "Cadogan Hall Revisited" thread, we have to get Aled and Hayley to sing a WITA duet on the pavement outside.
Both the Andrews should be there with their videocameras to record the event for prosterity (or prosperity of UNICEF).

The idea of giving to a charity and becoming the proud owner of "Walking in the air" Hayley's first disc appeals to me enormously. If this is a possibility I would love to hear more.

I am most curious to hear 'Eternal Flame', 'Time To Say Goodbye' and most of all 'Groovy Kind of Love'. I wouldn't mind not having the album if only she performed that song at some point in the future. Hayley's not the only artist to keep limited editions close to her chest. Sarah Brightman is the same. She has two CDs which hardly anyone has and she refuses to release them again. i like the idea that both Sarah and Hayley both have in this case. It's always nice the original people that obtained the limited item to treasure it for its rarity. These things lose something when they available to absolutely everybody.

I don't think that it is Hayley keeping "Walking In The Air" Close to her chest. THere were only 1070 copies ever pressed before Hayley was even known throughout New Zealand. I believe the family have been approached about re-issue and Roger may be able to provide more details here, but I think that, because it was such a long time ago and produced without the resources of a major recording company that it wouldn't stand up to today's standards. I am most curious to hear 'Eternal Flame' Ha, and you were worried we would "eternally flame" you for your review of Treasure, but we didn't. You stated your opinion with complete candor and courage and that gets our respect in return. Now as to Hayley's Eternal Flame, I once had this song on my old computer and it's lost forever now. I remember thinking it was her brightest moment. She can really sing those kind of ballads and too bad nothing quite like it has been attempted since she hit the bigtime.

Grant Well actually, it is a bit of both. Yes, there were only 1070 produced but the family have said they would "prefer it not to spread too much" or something like that. We must remember that Hayley is not merely their little girl any more. She is a worldwide public figure and so much of her life (even some of her relatively private life) has fallen into the public domain. It is not surprising that the family would like to keep a few early memories from escaping into the big wide world. WITA was originally recorded as a memento for family and friends and I don't blame them a bit for wanting to keep it that way. Roger
