Hey has anyone heard this other version of "Across the Universe of Time"?? If so what is it like?? Its, erm... interesting! I like it personally although I've only heard it in full as performed "live" on German TV. Take a look for yourself here at HWI.net . It's called "Pro Sieben video" and is a huge file, though... 25 MB ... complete with full interview James Last's CD "They Call Me Hansi" is available from Amazon.de here and it includes a sample of Hayley singing "Across The Universe of Time" with him. Oh, I've put "Peaches and Creamy World" back in the Mouse King thread. I joined the 30 second samples together to make it longer! Here it is.

Hello again Dave! I really enjoy the clip of Hayley singing "Across the Universe of Time" with James Last, and this could be a brilliant theme song for her to sing if they ever make a feature film of "Doctor Who". Hayley wouldn't be suitable for a Star Trek movie because she's only got two ears. She would need a left ear, a right ear and a final front ear! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCome on, it is 1st April! Bye for now, Richard

Hello again folks! I've just seen a copy of James Last's CD 'They Call Me Hansi' here in London at HMV, 150 Oxford Street. As well as his version of 'Across The Universe Of Time' with Hayley, there are other tracks with Tom Jones and Pavarotti. Unfortunately the price is £22.99, so I won't be adding this one to my collection at the moment! Best Wishes, Richard

There is a perfectly simple solution to that. There are currently 124 members here so it only works out at just over 18 pence each. So, Richard can buy it and we will all reimburse him our share. What night should we all come round to listen to it, Richard? Roger... as if you hadn't guessed!

Hi Folks, I brushed on this subject in another thread, I only got this album just before Christmas 2008. This version of Across the Universe of Time is just brilliant, I just love it and have been playing it on "Repeat" over the Christmas. It just makes you wanna get up and dance.. I suspect a lot of you guys here on the forum don't have this song because there was so little discussion about the style the music is presented in and James Last did a cracking job on it, bit of a genius is James Last, his instinct for capturing music from so many different cultures and countries is amazing. Hayley could easily crack the pop / Dance and nightclub scene with music like this with a bit more defined drum and bass on it. would going from crossover to pop music be called "CROSSBACK" ? Having heard Japanese songs once or twice I think Hayley could leave a lot of top pop artists at the starting line..... Another thought that crossed my mind was Is the original Irish recording of Pure like this and if it is I would love to hear it. Apparently it was "Scrapped" for being to much drum and bass or something similar. Hope the newer members will have a look at the earlier posts in this thread .. there are some links in it well worth a listen

I've just realised my post was misleading. I should point out that I only enjoyed Hayley's performance, not James Last's backing. I was probably trying to be polite at the time! Richard

Hi Richard,
I think what you are politely trying to say is that Hayley's performance is wonderful despite all the unnecessary clattering that is going on around her.
Different yes, and I loved the interview too - we don't often Hear Hayley speak German. Not to mention the odd word of Maori.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention again Comet, I hadn't seen it before and thought i was delightful.

I thought the backing guitarists ruined what should be a beautiful song, one of my favourites.

Like Comet, I only got this album just before Christmas. I bought two copies, one for my cousin's husband (he is a big James Last fan) as a Christmas gift, and one for my collection. Hayley is brilliant but I really don't like very much James Last's version. Best wishes, Paulo Correia
