A suggestion. We often see seating plans posted for a particular venue where Hayley is appearing, then, when she appears there again, someone ends up rummaging through threads looking for it! What about having a thread somewhere prominent where seating plans could be kept together? Hi Grant, This is an interesting suggestion which may or may not prove worthwhile. I agree it could initially eliminate the need to go trawling through lengthy threads on the Concert board to locate a plan that has been previously posted. In time, though, the Seating Plan thread would grow to many pages. Each plan would be added as and when it became appropriate (which is dependant upon Hayley's next appearance at that particular venue) but otherwise in no partiular sequence. Each plan would then become equally difficult to locate. I suspect it might also be necessary to lock the thread to eliminate general discussion which would make it even harder to locate the individual plans but that would mean nobody other than staff could post the plans. So, at the moment, I'm not sure about this. If anyone would like to add any thoughts (for or against), please do so. Thanks, Roger

Roger, I agree that this would be a useful feature. I think all we need is a seating plan for each location, with no other comment. If we do it through the forum, there should be a section for seating plans and a separate thread for each venue to make them easy to find. If it is open to all, we would need a rule, enforced by the moderators, that only seating plans could be posted. Alternatively, they could be put somewhere else on HWI, but that would require someone to maintain it. But since most concert hall websites include seating plans, perhaps all we need is a page of links.

Hi Roger
I was certainly thinking that the thread should be for seating plans ONLY and should act as a reference thread for viewing which could then be linked to a thread for any concerts in that venue.
Maybe it could be split into major sub groups if it got to bulky. i.e. UK; Europe; US Etc. but with many concert threads exceeding 15+ pages, knowing what you were looking for WAS going to be in a particular thread, searching THAT thread wouldn't be a waste of effort.
Best wishes Grant

Maybe it could be split into major sub groups if it got to bulky. i.e. UK; Europe; US Etc. Hi Grant, Unfortunately, that can't be done because it is technically impossible to divide a thread into sub-groups. What you are effectively asking for is a Board... or at least a Sub-Board (probably within 'Hayley In Concert'). If that sub-board existed, it could have threads for the UK, the rest of Europe, the US, Australia and New Zealand, the Far East and so on. Now let's look at the UK thread as an example: In the past five years, Hayley has appeared in approximately 110 different venues in the UK. Seating plans for each of them would appear in the order in which those concerts were announced and would span six pages. When she then returns to one of those venues, I don't think it would be any easier to locate the plan than if it appeared in the concert thread and the amount of work needed to maintain that Sub-Board would not be justified. So, although I like the basic idea, at the moment, I don't think it is easily workable. Roger

Thanks Roger
I understand the problems, so how about just those venues with complicated seating arrangements like the RAH and those that have oddly numbered rows? Was it Canterbury that had some double letter rows before 'A'?
Best wishes Grant

Hello Grant! The problem with venues like Canterbury Cathedral is that the seating plan may change for different events. Richard
