I have often thought that HWI is a very enjoyable place to be and that there is great camaraderie amongst the members (in addition of course to the ongoing promotion of the subject itself - Hayley!). So how about considering the HWI site as a brand and most importantly, that it stands for certain values. This being the case then our values could be:
Honest: Members are open and honest about their communications with each other and reflect their true intentions
Welcoming: Members and Guests enjoy visiting HWI encouraging Members to contribute to the continued promotion of HWI and Hayley Westenra
Inclusive: Members reach out to anyone and everyone interested in joining HWI ensuring there are no boundaries or prejudices
Please consider the above as purely a draft at this stage and following the lead set by the third value then everyone is welcome to comment.
Martin

Hi Martin, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I thoroughly agree with the three values you have stated and I hope they are what we have always strived to achieve. Comments from other Members would be welcome but, even more than that, I would value the opinion of our Guests. Unfortunately, my email address is not visible to them and it would not be wise for me to publish it here. However, if any Guests would like to convey their thoughts about HWI (the site and/or the forum) there is a way. If you go to the front page of the main site HERE, and scroll down to the bottom row of buttons, the first of them is "contact hwi". From there, you can submit a message which comes through to me. I would appreciate knowing the approximate location from where these messages are sent - just the country will do. I cannot guarantee being able to respond to all messages privately but I will endeavour to convey anything particularly significant here in this thread (anonymously if that is stated as a requirement). I look forward to hearing from you. Roger

Hi everyone Thanks Martin for this suggestion, I like it As Roger says, I feel that the core of members who post regularly have already built up a sort of unspoken code of conduct. But I can't see that it would be harmful for the forum to set out what it stands for. Mark

I've thought long and hard before writing this:
A while ago I made a fuss because one of my posts were edited. I got upset because it looked as if everyone was ganging up on me and I get very paranoid sometimes. Of course I was in the wrong. But I have a habit of getting self pitying at lot. I left for while and I threatened to leave this and the official forum a few times. Its all silly, but things are very difficult sometimes, people seem to be my friend on this site (I have become a parody of my on self on the official forum, now). I do appear to joke and get annoying a lot, but its just a sign of deterioration. I'm not trying to get people sympathy now (I may have done in the past).
I'm writing this just in case I get worse. I'm sorry for the seriousness but just in case you are my friend for real, you should know.

Hi Jon
I think we are all friends here; each of us contributing in our own unique way. We may not always agree with each other and posts may get a bit heated sometimes but, at the end of the day we are all here for one reason -
Hayley
What does HWI mean to me?
H - Helping each other in all matters relating to Hayley W - Waiting patiently for the start of numerous Hayley concerts. I - Introducing the uninitiated to Hayley
God bless each and every one.
Grant

Hah, well I hope we instigate happiness when individuals have wonderful insights, heavenly wisdom, interesting hobbies, worthy ideas. They do! I think I should get the accolade of daftest person on this forum though, but seriously the future can be scary for some of us. Thats my final say.

Hey Martin, Roger, and gang, Just to re-emphasize a point previously mentioned, I think that HWI does seem to possess a certain core quality - compassion, support, and care for Hayley, for her success, for her personal well-being and for her fans. Try to put that into an acronym and it takes up a whole page! But anyway, guys, I think Ms. Hayley would be proud. And I, like Jon, have felt very welcome here among both new and seasoned fans of Ms. Hayley. There seems to be an underlying commitment to one another and to Ms. Hayley to ensure that all conduct is respectful and courteous. I think that is a reflection on both the HWI members and Ms. Hayley herself. (And yes, Richard, I am trying to "brown nose" a bit just in case you meet her for the seventeenth time!!, you can put in a good word for me.) i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif In case my American slang has not crossed the pond, "brown nose" is defined here, dictionary.reference.com/browse/brown-nose (from dictionary.com). Cheers, and Best Wishes HWI, -Eric

Hi all,
Going on a month and a half of "membership" here on the HWI forum, I wanted to say that my knowledge and appreciation for Hayley has improved immensely! (From both the forum and the main site.)
For all of you who are involved with the day-to-day operations of the forum, thank you for keeping it up and running (not an easy task, it seems, as we have noticed from other forums).
Every day, I learn many new things about Hayley, and of her focused goals in life. It is not for monetary success, nor for popularity, but simply because she enjoys performing and is able to help many people through her songs, her personality, her charity work, etc.
I also have learned that her family is the very same way -- caring for others above themselves.
Her 'family' here at HWI also takes very serious the responsibility of promoting her and sharing these qualities with the rest of the world. You do so carefully so as not to bring any reproach at all to Hayley or her family. This forum is not just a fan forum, but a community where Hayley supporters can congregate and help one another, all while continuously helping to promote Hayley. (Even among the talented members here --of which, there are many--, there is no shortage of support for Ms. Westenra). {What an honor to be a part of such a community!}
I think all who are involved have contributed significantly, and personally here's a small "thank you" for all of you taking the time to share Hayley with this country boy. (Martin, I may be off-topic here...if so, I apologize...but that is what I see in 'HWI'). I can hardly wait to see what more we all will learn of Hayley and of each other in the coming months.
Sorry, guys. This probably sounds like some sort of greeting card you would find in Wal-Mart, and you all may already know this...but I hope it helps encourage a little, hearing it from an "outside party."
Thanks again, HWI !! And keep up the good work !! (I know Hayley must certainly appreciate it !!)
Eric (Contrary to popular belief, I really do not usually say a whole lot....only when moved.)
