HWI Competitions ?

Hi Everybody,

I was wondering if we could arrange some competitions for HWI Forum members, I would be prepared to donate the odd piece of Hayley memorabilia as a prize, it would be fun, and we could even raise a little money for Hayley's project in Ghana, remember that it only costs £15 for a bicycle to enable a young girl to be able to get to a school. We could just have them for fun?

We would need the blessing of our admins and managers, who already work far too hard on our behalf, so it would need to not generate any more work for them, although they would make superb unbiased judges.

lets have your thoughts, it may be a stupid idea, if you think it is, tell me I can take it!

Hi Steve,

Thank you for an interesting suggestion.

In fact, we used to have a special Competitions board but it was used so rarely that it was removed from view. It would take only a few minutes to return it to its former glory so if you or anyone else would care to devise a competition, we would be happy to consider it.

Within the Competitions board (currently hidden) are the full HWI competition rules which I will send you if you wish. However, any competitions in the past were only for fun and not fund raising. If that is the intention, we may have to check up on any legal issues.

One rule that is worth noting now is that HWI Staff and Owners and Moderators of the Yahoo Discussion group are not allowed to enter. Correspondents and Reporters are not considered staff for the purposes of competitions and so may enter.
