Yes Rory, You do appear to be "Online" a lot. Ah, thanks for the enlightenment. I'd like everyone to be aware, then, that my status will most likely remain "online" constantly - whether I am indeed online or not. I would think that other mobile device users might experience similar situations; do you do the same as I do Taylor? -Rory

I don't think anyone remains online constantly. Right now I am the only member online, although there are also some guests, so you might show up there if you are not logged in. On my own computers I tick the box to stay logged in permanently, but I don't at work. It sometimwes happes that I am logged in more than once (on different computers, different browsers or different tabs in the same browser). Just checked and it doesn't list me twice.

This also brings up a question that's plagued me for some time: I always leave HWI as one of my open tabs on the Safari browser on my phone, so does that mean that I always appear as "online?" -Rory Hi Rory, I'll take a look at this later. I do encourage everyone who is a member to log in under your credentials when you can. One of the benefits is that you will not see any distracting advertisements.

I think you're right, cuz it's showing you as offline now. Do you still have HWI as an open tab in your closed browser at the time I'm posting this? -Rory

Well that clears it up. But I bet it might show as 'online' if we lock our phones/iPods while still on the browser, which I'm sure I've done many times

Yep...as long as you have a browser tab / window of the forum open, you will still show as online.

I was just looking as a guest. It showed 0 users logged in, and an advert for Best Western Hotels at the foot of the page. I have now logged in and the advert has vanished.

Thank you too to Paul (Comet) and the other contributors to the thread for reminding everyone of the other benefits of logging in. It's nice to know who's around these days, how else would we know? Cheers, Dave

Yes, Paul, we exist in eternity. As does Hayley and as do all of her performances. Get your brain round that. There is nothing like a new concert tour to arouse interest. We've waited too long.

anyone know why this statistic popped up on the forum stats under members,
"Most users online : May 13, 2021"
There wasn't even one post made that day, curious ?

Hi Paul,
'Most users online' is a stat baked into the forum software to include visits by members and guests, the latter includes members not logged on or unregistered visitors. It also includes bots, crawling our pages to index them, and of course spamming attempts by goodness knows who so it's essentially a meaningless number and I wish we had more control over it. 'Users online' suffers from a similar problem.
Maybe Joe knows more, we'll have a chat about it later.
Cheers, Dave
