A few comments: a) On opening the post started by Steve, I found myself not authorised to reply to the thread, so I am posting this in a seperate thread. I don't understand though why I can't reply to an existing thread, yet am allowed to start a new thread ... b) I am just wondering how strict the Proboards rules really are. Frankly I think it is daft not to allow people with limited English skills to post in their own language, I am owner/moderator of quite a few Proboards forums and even posted other language posts on some of them myself, without ANY problem from Proboards. Maybe the management here should get some clarification from Proboards as to what exactly this legal stuff about other languages really means? And above all, I am completely mystified about being unbale to respond in an existing thread on this board, yet I am allowed to start a new thread here ? Gerrit

Ohh, I understand now, Steve's thread has been locked by management. Why ? Is this a case of paranoia

Hi Gerrit,
In setting up a Proboards forum, one has to agree to abide by their Terms of Service. If those rules are subsequently breached, Proboards are well within their rights to close down that forum. I am not prepared to risk that possible outcome and, as was clearly stated in the original thread, how am I and my fellow moderators expected to run a forum if posts can be made in any language?
I do not make the rules but I am bound to abide by them. Consequently, the subject is closed. The reason you were unable to reply to the original thread is because I locked it in the hope of eliminating the possibility for any further comment as I suspect you well know.
Roger
