I am copying part of Donna's post which she made to the Cottars' sub-board:

Hi Donna,
First of all, I think I should point out that it is not HWI's role to give advice on how aspiring singers might succeed in the music industry. Having said that, we have a number of members who are very knowledgable and have some personal experience. They may be happy to offer advice or to answer questions when they can. But that doesn't merit the creation of a sub-board and neither does it require one. You or any other member can start a new thread here in the general area of Other Music. If you wish, it could be specifically about you (provided you fall loosely into the classical, crossover, Celtic, light pop genres). In that case, you would be welcome to post clips of you singing (subject to any copyright restrictions) if you wish.
There is a book at amazon.com which you may find useful. It covers topics such as Recording Sessions, Performing, Publishing, Contracts, Copyrights, Royalties, Management, etc.

Several days ago I asked the question about how do you qualify for a sub-board in other music. I was told that there were no more sub-boards being created for other music. I think I am not the only new member to HWI that go to this site because we like Hayley's music, and we are also singers....but we are singers trying to find out how to make it in the business. And now the "Cottars" have 2 sub-boards....just seems unfair somehow. I wanted to let you know how I feel . It seems if you are a long-time member on this forum you get alot more privilges.Donna- a new member
