The Management Team have recently been reviewing the Other Music board with the view of carrying out something of a tidying up exercise. As part of that plan, the sub-board for Pzazz has now been archived. Although it no longer appears on the Other Music Index Page, it is still available to view HERE. Please note that posting to that sub-board has now been disabled. If anyone wishes to discuss Pzazz, they may do so in this thread. Should there be significant and sustained interest, the original sub-board will be fully restored. Roger

Just wondering: Why is this new thread for Pzazz even here?
Pzazz doesn't exist anymore. For reasons unknown they never put an album out, even though they had a cute sound that would have been very marketable in the right places.
I'd like to know the full story behind their would-be odyssey. Where are they now? Any plans to re-group?

Hi Steve,
This thread, together with those for all other archived sub-boards, exists because it contains a link to the "hidden" board to which some member may wish to refer. The fact that Pzazz no longer exist doesn't necessarily mean we have no further interest in them although, admittedly, any interest is likely to diminish as time goes on.
From what little I have heard, I think the chances of them re-grouping are virtually nil but I hope Claire, who is still a member here, succeeds in her solo career.

An interesting development point, Roger. I'm sure you don't want me to raise interest in archived stuff pointlessly so perhaps a PM answer might be appropriate but in terms of the value of this site, archived stuff 'to be available', how exactly do you envisage this working? I am trying to suggest there ought to be a protocol. Members can look for and at archived stuff but if they want to refer to it should start a new thread perhaps with the same heading but with the addition '2'. Then if it dies, rather than re-awakens, Mods can add it to the original archive. If it resuscitates then re-enliven the original. The reason for raising this is my feeling that perhaps more can be archived, if this policy were to be implemented, making the most current stuff less in bulk but more easily managed. Perhaps in a less long-winded way of saying it, that is the intention! You are just doing it sotto voce on a 'suck it and see; basis? Peter S.

Hi Peter,
Strictly speaking, "archived" is not the right word even though I have used the term myself. Neither is "hidden", for that matter. Think of it in terms of being stored in the back room. Those sub-boards are out of sight and out of mind but they are still available if anyone wishes to refer to them.
The reason is that the forum was becoming more active than ever before. Whilst we welcome discussion about other singers, we didn't want to encourage it too much by having too many dedicated sub-boards. Consequently, following lengthy discussion with the Management Team, we selected those sub-boards which we felt held the least interest to the majority of members. This was based on the number of posts made to each of them and the time elapsed since the last post was made, the number of members who had shown an interest in that particular singer and so on.
It is not our intention to *archive* other sections of the forum be they Other Music sub-boards or anything else as that is likely to cause more confusion and duplication than leaving them where they are. Yes, moving these few sub-boards was something of a 'suck it and see' exercise but, since no posts have been made in these replacement threads until today, it seems to have worked.
