Hello everyone,
I have several items of news to report concerning the HWI Management and Moderating Team.
Due to his other commitments, Andrew has now stepped down from his role within the Management Team and as Global Moderator. He is now an Honorary Member in recognition of his invaluable contributions in the past and his continued support for Hayley and HWI. I would like to thank Andrew for everything he has done for the team and for me personally since our acquaintance began and look forward to his future involvement as an Honorary Member.
I am delighted to announce that Belinda and Stuart have both accepted the role of Global Moderator which gives them equal status on the forum to the rest of the Management Team. Also, in recognition of his length of service and unfailing dedication to the forum, Richard has been promoted to the role of Senior Moderator. Please join me in wishing them all every success in their new positions.
In the coming days, we will be making a few minor changes to the appearance of the forum's front page, largely for cosmetic reasons. The Staff box will, of course, be updated to reflect the above changes and the names of the Moderating Team will be removed from each individual board.
Thanks, Roger

Hi everyone Firstly, many congratulations Richard to you in your new role as Senior Moderator - it really is most deserved. Many congratulations also to Belinda and Stuart in becoming full Global Moderators, helping to complete a stronger and very supportive team. Well done to you all. Finally but, by no means least, many many thanks to Andrew for all your time and effort as a moderator over the past few years. It wont be quite the same - your name missing from the management team board But hey, I know you will still be a valuable 'honorary' member of the forum and I look forward to meeting up again at a Hayley concert sometime soon. All the best for the future Andrew. Best wishes Mark.

All of you already do an amazing amount to make HWI the 'Best Forum In The World' (IMO!!). What do you mean, "in your opinion"? It's a universally known fact, isn't it? Okay, this morning I have received confirmation from Oksana that she is to stand down from her Moderating role on the Other Music board. Not surprisingly, she is busy with her studies and other commitments and has said she is unable to log on to the forum as often as she would wish. Nevertheless, I know she will look in as often as possible and I'm sure she will always be a highly respected Honorary Member. I will modify her profile accordingly a little later today. Oksy, thank you so much for the support you have shown to HWI and I wish you all the best for everything in the future. Roger

Hi Oksy I just wanted to thankyou so far for your wonderful contribution to our forum and to wish you all the best for the future in whatever you do. I can fully understand why you feel you need to let go your moderator role, at your stage in life, you have an awful lot going on and you need to concentrate I do hope that you will still be able to log in to the forum fairly regularly, particularly to post some of your wonderful photography. Also of course, to keep us up to date on how you're doing. Take care Mark x

Hi Oksy
Sorry to hear that you are stepping down from the management team but studies must come first. I wish you all the best for the future and thank you for your contribution to the forum so far.
I hope you will continue to post your amazing images as and when you have time because the photography thread will not be the same without you.
Love Grant xx

All Moderators names have now been removed from each board on the Index page. This has reduced the depth of each board so that more can be viewed without scrolling. I hope it also looks a bit tidier! If members wish to PM anyone in the Moderating Team, thanks to Dave, there is now an easy way to do it: If you look at the "Staff" box on on the front page, our names are all linked. If you click on one, it will not go to our profile as you might expect, but to a new Private Message with the name of the recipient already filled in. Clever innit? Roger

In reply to your post Roger: - The 'annual review' in this case is welcome as it provides both the reassurance of proactive thinking and a good reminder to the rest of us that a lot of work is done behind the scenes to maintain the value of what we have. I hope none of us will ever take it for granted or let those doing the work believe they are taken for granted.
- Very sorry to lose Andrew as it has been great fun interacting with him. As he said in a post congratulating me on 3,000 posts, 'nothing heard for too long'--or something to that effect. He made a major contribution to HWI with his tartan--I trust he will be available to help should Hayley decide she wants a kilt/dress/gown--did you ever answer that question of mine Andrew, or did you miss the question or I the answer? What does one call tartaned clothing for a lady? Do ladies wear kilts, or is it a dress or ball gown? His honorary membership is well deserved BUT just because that means you won't fall off by default of posting, that doesn't mean you can't post at least occasionally, Andrew!
- To others coming on board this is a relief. I know from conversations with Roger when he took over ownership from Keith and Simon, he was concerned about the pressure placed upon him. I could only offer consoling words and regret I could not possibly take on any chores. So what these changes prove is that we have an active and broadly experienced crew and somehow, if it only amounts to changing chairs occasionally, there is back-up available.
As an addendum I can also say that removing the mods names from each board does make the whole less cumbersome and far more manageable. Peter S.
