Hi Belinda, Thanks very much for posting that. Thats such an excellent article and its looking like things are working out for the best. Her parents seem very sensible. Could you tell that "I will always love you" was recorded in her Aunts room? I couldn't! All I could hear was her dog gone perfect voice. Amazing. I was listening to your video of Hayley when she was 8 and Connie in some ways Connie is better at 6.... (I'm ashamed to say it on this forum - someone smack me please).... My only complaint is that I just tried ordering a signed copy of her CD and they don't take paypal... I am pretty happy for Connie for the new arrivals of her two front teeth Peter

I have looked more into it and found that Simon and SONY BMG told Connie's mum to find a record company that 'looks after children'. I think a record company has been created just for Connie. The recording hasn't really affected her life in anyway (she got to record it in her Aunt's spare room!) , so I am happy. Hi Nicola You are quite correct. Connie's record company is called "The Rainbow Recording Company" and is a subsidiary of the major company (whose name escapes me!) that has signed her. I was also delighted to hear this piece of news. It looks very much as though everyone wants to keep Connie 'grounded' just as they did for Hayley and it certainly appears to have much more liklihood of succeeding than Simon Cowell's contract would have. Best wishes Grant

I agree. I wasn't at all comfortable with Connie being with Sony BMG. I know record companies are businesses, but that company just seems more ruthless than others!
I find it strange though that I only came across the news of the album by logging on here; where is the promotion for this CD? They have fantastic foundation for promotion. I understand Connie shouldn't be carted off to GMTV, This Morning, X Factor, etc, but I would have expected some TV spots and advertisements at least?

Re Connies 7th birthday Video www.expressandstar.com/2007/11/21/ice-time-for-connie/Schoolgirl singing star Connie Talbot enjoyed a down-to-earth birthday party with family and friends. The Streetly youngster celebrated her seventh birthday with a fun session at The Snowdome in Tamworth last night. The pint-sized singing sensation, who stole the hearts of the nation on Britain’s Got Talent, was joined by friends for sledging followed by a meal. Mother Sharon said today: “Connie had a wonderful time.” Belinda

Very cute performance. Was it sung live? I know GMTV very rarely let their acts to their stuff live. Her voice has matured over the past 6 months, that's for sure! Can't believe how rapidly it's growing. I hope she doesn't over strain herself!

Here is some midweek chart news (Monday's album sales). This album sold enough copies on Monday to place it in the top 30 best selling albums in the UK and if stocks are sufficient, it could well be in the top 20 by the end of the week. I have to say, I hadn't heard of this young lady until I read this thread and I had no idea she had released a CD! I tend to dismiss CDs by children of this age as novelty efforts so I haven't even listened to anything of Connie's. I guess I'll have to go off now and do some catching up! Cheers, Dave

Thanks for the great chart news, Dave! Many thanks for the report too, Belinda. It's a shame they didn't provide enough CDs. Here are a few pictures of Connie at HMV London. She is such a cutie! Stephany
