The quote given in your post 30, Richard raises an interesting point. Towards the bottom is the statement: '... and may well go on to be a permanent understudy for the group.'
First, we have reassurance. that the girls, whom we know MIGHT go their separate ways after a while aren't immediately thinking of doing so.
Second. what an interesting potential is raised. We have known that 'The Choirboys' if the concept is to continue MUST replace over time. This 'spare' provides literally a spare (like the interchange with 'Celtic Woman') enabling the group to continue as a group while allowing individual needs for the girls.
Third, if this contest is successful entertainment in the West, what chance for the concept continuing nationally for the next 'spare'?
The extent to which this is a follow-on from the very successful concept of finding Maria for the present 'Sound of Music' production, of which the currently running 'Technicolour Dream Coat' is its immediate successor, what superb exposure for 'All Angels'!
However, there may be a danger of so many shows jumping on the latest 'bandwagon' that the concept palls over time. Essentially, it is after all simply a different shaped packaging of the long-running talent show contest.. Nonetheless, full marks to Bedlam Management for singular initiative so far.

From the Wiltshire Times:- But the 18-year-old George Ward School pupil says she does not mind as she has been snapped up to perform at another concert instead. Miss Lambert, from Woodrow Road in Melksham, appeared in the semi-finals of the contest to sing with classical quartet All Angels at the Prom on the Close in Bristol. She said: "I didn't win but I still got the opportunity to be on TV. It was really exciting and they even came and filmed at school a few weeks ago. "I got about 5,500 votes so I was really pleased." But as soon as she was told she had not reached the finals, Miss Lambert had a call from the organisers of the Lacock Proms asking her to perform there. She said: "I think it's fate really - stuff works out for a reason. "The Lacock Proms are on the same night as the concert with All Angels so I would not have been able to perform there if I had won. "It's going to be bigger and better because I get to perform a whole concert now whereas before I would have only sung one song with All Angels. "It's such a massive opportunity, I wouldn't have liked to let it pass by." Miss Lambert says she will spend the next year training and hopes to pursue a career in classical music. The Lacock Proms are on July 7.
Richard
