I would like to draw people's attention (and especially those in the US!) to 11-year old Madeline Edwards.
She first came to the attention some 4 years ago, when as a 7-year old she recorded a CD "Madeline" which was released on private label, and which was recorded especially for Juvenile Diabetes Research. Madeline herself has this condition.
Madeline was inspired by the young Charlotte Church, and at that time people's attention was drawn to her CD and website www.madelineedwards.com/ on various Charlotte Church forums. Perhaps some people still remember that.
Ever since that time, I also have maintained a profile at Young Classical Performers:

I have just had an e-mail from Madeline's dad - Madeline is participating in the CBS Early Show Living Room Kids Edition singing contest - with the ultimate winner appearing live on the Early Show from New York.
The format of the contest is as follows: Each week 3 home-made videos are presented, and the public gets a chance to vote on the best video. Madeline was featured in round 2, a round which she won with more than 75% of the vote (the highest recorded vote until now), with O Mio Babbino Caro. After 3 weeks, the winners of the previous 3 rounds are presented again in what you could call a 'preliminary final'. Madeline also won that round, this time obtaining more than 42% of the vote. This made her the first 'grand final' candidate - the others are still to be determined.
I hope to be kept up-to-date by Madeline's dad - and I hope that people here who are from the US will assist in voting for Madeline when the time arrives (early March).
We are encouraged so often to vote in a British contest here, now it is finally the chance for people in the US to do so.

PS. I am no longer involved with Charlotte Church forums and discussion groups - could anyone who is please spread the info?
