Jon, good to have you back on board! On the mod issue, I must say that between the two boards this one seems to be run more efficiently (no offense intended). I have not yet found a bad post that slipped through on here. Back on topic: As I said on the other forum, I think her voice is not bad for her age. As people have already mentioned, it will mature; and when it does (assuming she pursues a singing career), look out! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

You've really made me happy with your support. I'm going to try my best to behave myself from now on. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI have to say though, that Estephany's voice surprised me a bit. We all know that Tashi wouldn't guide us toward a X-factor/American Idol wannabe, and I was expecting her to be good. But what I see now is that she has the potential to be the next big thing. I was very impressed.

This thread seems to have gone completely off track, and I have no idea what any of you are talking about!
I listened to Estephany, I was so impressed I have gone to every forum I am a member of and posted a link, I also made her a first friend on Keedie's MySpace.
I didn't find her through Tashi's recommendation though, I'm a big fan of Tiffany Desrosiers. I posted her MySpace on this site ages ago - no one shared my enthusiasm, but Tiffany who has over 2000 friends on her page made a blog entry, just about Estophany to promote her. I heard her that way. It was really nice of Tiffany aswell.
Judging by Estophany's page she seems laidback and controlled, I don't think there is any danger here. Though she must of been having a lot of music lessons to get that good at such a young age!

Hi Nicola,
The "off track" posts that you mention happened because someone posted a scathing and rather rude comment about Estephany's musical ability on Hayley's official forum - so it wasn't really off track as our members were defending her.
Personally I prefer to reserve judgement. other than to say that for her age, she sounds impressive. Let us hope she has not been pushed too far too soon and that she can continue to improve as she gets older.
Cheers, Dave

Hi all,
I'm sorry to say this, but I have spoken to some musical experts and they say that Estephany is a scam. Because I believe these forum friends 100% I have messaged her the following:
What do you guys think?

Hello Nicola.
I'm going to reserve judgement until you get an answer from Estephany, but do we really need to get involved on this forum?
I've locked this thread temporarily while I confer with Admin.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention so quickly.
These are serious allegations and I have no idea if they are justified or not and I do not have the time to do any research. If there is some sort of scam going on, then Nicola is quite right to warn us. If there isn't, we would be guilty of defamation of character (or similar).
I hope Nicola will be able to clarify the situation quickly in which case, she needs to be able to post it here. I have therefore unlocked the thread. Should Estephany be genuine, ALL posts which question her integrity shall be immediately deleted.
I would appreciate it if ALL members bear in mind that we do not know if there is any truth in these allegations before posting.
Roger

Hi everyone, Interesting! I'll be looking at this myself later today as I have the necessary audio software and I've done frequency/modulation shifting and comparing/contrasting audio waveforms. I'll let you know what I find (if I dare! ) Cheers, Dave EditI've done some tests now and I'll probably publish the results this evening, after a few of us have previewed them privately and commented. The results are most enlightening.

Hi all, I got a mature reply back from Estephany: don't worry, soon I will record songs composed by my cousin and my teacher... and you will see that I am. And I know that I copied many styles because I am a younger singer, but only the style, I never would make something illegal, because I am christens evangelical. and I don't know why they said that ... In my country said that also, until that I presented me in a television program to sing a live, and everything it is ok. but thanks for explain me that, now I will delete that songs and only will record my songs. and I don't believe in experts, because a "expert" said that I never would ascend more of RE, and now I ascend much more of RE. thanks you and God blesses you. xx Estephany She didn't explicitly say that the recordings were of her or not, but the inclination is that she did record them. I have had two testimonies from two different people and they both agree and see it as obvious. There is no reason for me not to believe them. I believe them, but they might not necessarily be right. So I shall await for your verdict Dave. It might be worthy to note that Tiffany has actually deleted her blog regarding Estephany, I don't know why. I'll message her and ask her why she has done that. Meanwhile, she says they are genuine and we will have to wait until she sings originals. The only evidence I have seen is the video recording of her voice, and that one was unremarkable. Still, when I listen to 'Elements' it sounds so much like a child... like I said before in the other forums, I can only rely on other people who know what they're talking about. I'm actually tone-deaf (not completely, but verging on). I really hope she is genuine, because that voice really is amazing and she will be absolutely huge. If you want the link to the thread in question about Estephany you can find it here: www.sarah-brightman.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=27342&start=30&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=(but you need to register to view, I think). There has been a new post since I visited and someone has said that she is lending her vocals, but only OVER the original. Or something. I don't know, she doesn't write very good English, (she's Spanish). Again, I hope it's all clear. Awaiting your verdict Dave.

Thank you Nicola for your input on Estephany. It sounds convincing. Has Dave attempted to repeat the 'experiment'?
I could not attempt to describe musical differences in the language you are able to use Nicola, but in my post of cautiion (intended for the child's benefit) I said 'the body has not yet caught up with the voice' and she should not yet be publicly exposed. What Iactually thought at the time but could not express was that it seemed like the sound equivalent of a body one might visually define as deformed. Something just did not sit right and jarred.
Well, perhaps the jury is still out?

Awaiting your verdict Dave. Hi Nicola, You expressed particular concern about the song entitled "Elements" on Estephany's MySpace, the one you referred to as "Il Dolce Suono" (from Lucia Di Lammermoor) and you mentioned Inva Mula Tchako's recording of it. So I downloaded a 30 second sample of Inva Mula Tchako's version of "Il Dolce Suome" from the movie soundtrack "Fifth Element" - it is available at www.allmusic.com. I also copied both of Estephany's audio samples from her MySpace although at that time, the video was no longer available. Using my usual audio editing software, Sound Forge, I then did a couple of things to try and throw some light on the mystery. 1) I made a 1 minute clip - the first half is that 30 second sample by Inva Mula Tchako and the second half is the same 30 seconds copied from the version attributed to Estephany on her MySpace. The only changes I made to the sample from Estephany's MySpace were to create a 2 second fade-in and fade-out to match the other sample, and normalisation of the audio levels to make them the same volume. I did nothing to the pitch of either sample and you can listen to the result here - Clip 12) I took Clip 1 and selected the second half minute of it (Estephany's sample) in Sound Forge. I then lowered the pitch of that second half of the clip by exactly four semitones taking care that the duration and tempo were unchanged. You can listen to the result here - Clip 2.Suffice it to say that I cannot tell the difference between the first 30 seconds and the second 30 seconds of clip 2... it sounds like the same singer and orchestra. But they are definitely taken from the two different sources that I mentioned and carefully modified only as I described. I certainly expected to hear a clear difference between them. It should be remembered that the original bitrate of Inva Mula Tchako's sample was only 20 kbps. I may try to do another comparison or two in a day or two's time but for now, illustrious members of the HWI forum, if you comment on this please be careful what you say! Cheers, Dave
