Hello everyone,
I can't find any mention of Alfie Boe in the forum so far so i thought i'd better mention him now!
Alfie is the first artist to be signed up by Classic FM's new label "Classic FM Presents" (in conjunction with Sony/BMG) and his album is released in the UK this week. Read about him here:
Here's an extract:
On his website www.alfieboe.com - there are three excellent sample audio tracks..
He's battling with Bryn Terfel's new Mozart album this week in the UK charts and it looks like Bryn will win easily because the supermarkets aren't stocking Alfie at all - but they have Bryn at around no. 25. Alfie should end up around the no. 100 mark, maybe the top 75 if he's lucky... and at no. 2 to Bryn in the Classical charts next week.
Cheers, Dave

Alfie Boe is in possession of one of the finest tenor voices to come out of this country for many years. An undiscovered national treasure, he’s about to release his debut album onto an unsuspecting public.
Hailing from the North of England, Boe was working with the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company when he decided to go to music college. He studied at The Royal College Of Music, The National Opera Studio and then the Royal Opera House Young Artists Programme.
Whilst doing his apprenticeship as a mechanic in the north of England, Boe took the brave move of leaving his job and pursuing his dream. Moving to London to train as an opera singer he found himself at times without any money and without a roof over his head. Alfie’s reflections on this time are insightful and very funny, and for any struggling artist inspirational
